It’s fun, the characters are rich and the overall story and setting works perfectly to give the characters space to grow and see where things take them all. The character development is exceptional, where Ruby and Ethan start is far removed from who they are by the end of the story. It’s a shame that Roja is so very much a disappointment, but that comes in the story and really had to be expected.</ins></div></td></tr>

While the story is about Ruby and Ethan, it’s also very much about Portia and Lou as the book has to balance both the romance that drives the main characters and the world building for </ins>the <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">future.</ins></div></td></tr>

There are, however a couple of points where succubus is used instead of succubi, a couple of minor issues with word misuse appear here and there as well. That minor quirk set aside, I would have liked more story about Ruby and Portia told. There’s a lot about Portia not revealed</ins>, <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">but really hinted at and that really needs to be explored as the series goes on. Especially one point that </ins>was <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">touched on a few more times in passing than what otherwise might have been just a comment from her</ins>. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Similarly, it would be nice to get to know Lou better and just why all of </ins>this <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">came to be. Yes it might be more world building, but then that’s always fun when the story and characters provide the opening.</ins></div></td></tr>

Cute </ins>and <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fun really can make a series better and there’s a lot of promise to be found in the works to come. It should be a lot of fun</ins>.</div></td></tr>
