			The dark holds secrets and for Ken, the dark which tempts him cannot be ignored. Shara cannot be real and yet she is. She speaks and he cannot help but listen. The words are temptation and temptation comes with a price.

			The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash which focuses on the main character being in the presence of what appears to be a trapped succubus called Shara and how they slowly fall to her whispered temptations and the inevitable end that the story telegraphs from the start.

			It’s something between a game of mental chess and a seduction overall, which leaves quite a number of questions and mysteries not explained or explored. That really cannot be expected due to the short length of the story, at the same time the opportunity seems to be wasted as a result. How the story is revealed is something of a slow motion disaster that occurs between the main character and Shara, which works well. Still, with that said the heart of the story is somewhat set aside and that takes something out of it.

			Shara, the succubus of the story, is very much a creature of evil intent with an evil purpose. She’s also very much a temptress and a seductress which works well through the story. At the same time there’s an edge of stereotypical behaviour as well which otherwise takes what is an interesting character and leaves them wanting at the climax and more so at the conclusion of the story.

			Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

			I have the oddest feeling I have read this story before, and I can’t quite recall where I have seen it. It’s too familiar a story, too clearly a memorable one as well. With that said, how the story ends offers the possibility of a following tale but I don’t expect that will ever happen. It’s interesting with an air of dangerous mystery I did like, it’s just a shame that the story didn’t allow for Shara to be more than she came to be.
