			A new home, a new life, but Maranda has a lot of work to make it hers. Btu there is a presence, an incubus with designs on her body and soul and he is more than willing to make Maranda’s needs his own.

			The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash that consists of a series of erotic scenes with lovely heat separated by moments of normality tinged with ebbing need. The erotic scenes are a delight, the incubus is very much an incubus in how he pleasures Maranda and I thought hey worked well overall.

			But the story moves very quickly, the spaces in-between the erotica felt a bit like they were there as space filler and felt odd. I’m unsure as to why that is, perhaps it is the oddity of the house, the descriptions of it, and how the story really does very little to explore why the incubus in in that house, his past, and more of all, why he became so attached to Maranda.

			The incubus, who is never named, undergoes a transformation as the heat builds and the connection between the characters comes to flame. He is more of a creature of sex rather than an evil presence and in being so that energy of possessing Maranda through shared pleasure left me wondering about him. He is a cypher overall, there is no background, no history, little said. Everything comes from his passions for Maranda and in that he is delightfully erotic. But there is so much that could have been done with him between the sex scenes and I really wish that had happened.

			Three out of five pitchforks.

			The story ends in a place that feels very much unfinished and that’s mostly to the gaps in the story which are left behind for the passions and erotica that takes over. It’s a shame the incubus was never named, it’s a shame his story wasn’t told. It’s rather heartbreaking that the connection between the main characters becomes something missing because it feels like there was a lot more story to tell and it really wasn’t.
