			A battle is not a war, and with one fight behind her, Lily needs to deal with the battle within herself. But that’s not easy when there are forces within and without that have their own plans, but then Lily is a stubborn succubus with a family that is as stubborn as she is.

			The work follows on from the where the first work closed and what follows is something of a continuation of the themes of self-realization, acceptance, mirth and mystery with a very unique setting and edge to follow. At the same time the story becomes a lot more complex and at times a little frustrating in how things develop between Lily and those around her.

			There is still the odd and sully tone at times, but then comes a lot of dark reflections and strife as well. I thought how Lily, and really all of the characters developed was interesting nonetheless. But at the same time things are very rushed, there’s not a lot of depth to some of the moments and overall this work felt too rushed to get to the last page and it really didn’t need to.

			As for Lily, while she is still a succubus, that’s somewhere deep inside of her now. It’s not her core being by the end of the story, even if her personality and tone get picked at. Her nature, and the situation she is in brings about a shift towards dealing with herself and the demons she carries inside, and the ones that know only to try and pull her towards what they wish. There’s still quite a lot of snark and deflection from her that leaves a lot of her past in shadow. What little told is very interesting, but overall is sort of skimmed over. Her succubus nature remains tamped down in the story, and has little to do with her using magic in various ways and so her succubus nature gets pushed back until it, overall, really has little meaning in tis part of the series.

			Three out of five pitchforks.

			I still adore Lily and I am going to continue to read the balance of the series. But as things are now, she’s really not a succubus overall, calling her a witch might be more to the point. Still, there is that aspect of her that nibbles on the edges of the story and perhaps that will return in the next part of the series, but I somehow doubt it will.
