			In the world of politics, one is always making deals. But there are some who want to be more than puppets. Travis believes he can make a difference, but others see him as an obstacle to be removed and a succubus is the way to do that.

			The work is a short story of political drama mixed with mystery which then develops into a short moment of succubus erotica before the inevitable, at least for those with darker intent, happens. The main character is trapped by circumstance and intent, his secrets being used against him by the succubus of the work towards what, after her appearance, begins as a strange seduction before turning very dark and evil.

			The story is revealed is something of a slow motion disaster that occurs between the main character and the succubus. It’s both interesting and somewhat stereotypical as the dark intent seeps from the pages and just overwhelms the story from beginning to end.

			The succubus of the work, who is never named, appears in an interesting form, really unique and her eventual transformation was really one of the more unique ones I have read in some time. But once she is fully in the story, she is temptation taking control of the story and the main character. At the same time there’s an edge of stereotypical behaviour as well which otherwise takes what is an interesting character and leaves them wanting at the climax and more so at the conclusion of the story.

			Three out of five pitchforks.

			While this is very much a succubus story, there’s something of an oddity with it. The aspects which focus on the succubus are fleeting, if so very dominating, but for such a very short part of the overall story. The mystery is intriguing, but there’s so little told of the succubus urself, especially her name, that it is not developed as much as I wished it had been. More political intrigue and not enough succubus overall really and there could well have been, especially in the ending of the story with a bit of a twist in the tale that didn’t happen.
