Plot Summary

A local club is offering everyone their hearts desire, but with a hidden cost. It's always a cost few are willing to pay, let alone die for. Now I have to go undercover after a young woman turns up dead. A pawn in a game run by siblings who survive off the desires and sexual energy of their victims. Now its up to me to get justice for the woman's family and solve the case before I fall prey to my own desires. What can I do when the powers of the Other Side threaten to tear me apart with an unquenchable thirst for lust?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on April 17, 2020

There is always darkness waiting for the unwise an unwary, no matter the cost to be paid. Even an angel can find themselves caught in the web and the result can bring anything but the light they wish to be part of.

The work is set in a modern world with a supernatural aspect to it. That aspect isn’t exactly hidden, the story sets itself into that quite firmly and as things develop this aspect of the main character and that of those they encounter, becomes central overall.

The character Markus, who is an incubus, and the character Jenna, who is a Succubus, are very much both stereotypical in their natures, being evil for the sake of being so and it’s a bit of a disappointment. They exist for the sake of the story and setting up what will follow, but otherwise there’s really no depth to them.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

It’s an interesting opening to the series, but as for the incubus and succubus characters, they just feel too one-dimensional for me. We’ll have to see what comes afterwards, perhaps the incubus will be more than he is here, I do hope so as otherwise both he and his sister were a means to an end and not a lot more than that.
