This entry is in the SuccuWiki for the sake of completeness with the D&D Universe.

In the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game, Rhyxali is a demon lord. She claims rulership over the shadow demons, and may be related to the demon prince Graz'zt.

Publication history

Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 edition (2000-2002)

Rhyxali first appeared in the web enhancement for the game's third edition supplement Book of Vile Darkness

Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition (2003-2007)

Rhyxali is mentioned in Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss and in the adventure Expedition to the Demonweb Pits.

Description

Rhyxali appears as a dark-skinned woman with six-fingers. This lends credence to her relationship with Graz'zt, which she has yet to confirm or deny.[1] She and Graz'zt maintain an attitude of indifference to one another. As befits her subjects, Rhyxali can become incorporeal at will. She is often seen wielding two daggers. Rhyxali's symbol is a jet black dagger.

Relationships

Rhyxali is rumoured to be the sister of Graz'zt. If true, this would also make her related to Graz'zt's son, Iuz. As Pale Night is rumored to be the mother of Graz'zt, Lupercio, and Vucarik in Chains, Rhyxali may also be related to those entities.

Realm

Not much is known about Rhyxali except that she rules the abyssal layer known as Shaddonon. A realm of dark forests and eternal twilight, this is where the shadow demons supposedly originate.[1] Rhyxali basically has given her subjects free rein to do as they please but with only one edict: to spy and gather as much information throughout the planes as possible. Rhyxali uses the intelligence gathered by her subjects for personal gain and to barter for wealth, favors, and souls. Otherwise, the demoness is uninterested in the power struggles common in the Abyss between other demon lords.
