Ever drink so much you have no recollection of the night before? Wonder what you get up to (or who uses your body) when that happens? Bizarre past-life regressions lead a reporter to a ghost whose thirst for revenge threatens to tear the city apart. Vancouver’s Mayor is brutally slain in Stanley Park, people are dying and the only clue to his death is an enigmatic shaman talking riddles on the trail of an awakened witch who spells nothing but trouble for all who cross her path. Carol's first detective case begins.
Vancouver’s mayor is found brutally slain in Stanley Park. His family missing.

Carol Ainsworth, newly promoted detective, struggles to find who killed Vancouver's Mayor. She has only the riddles of Haida Shaman Charlie as any clue to 'whodunnit'. While attempting to track down Charlie she encounters journalist Ben Carlton and becomes involved in several other murders involving the Hell's Angels and a ghost seeking vengeance on them. The ghost, former Angel Larry Siegman, inadvertently releases a native witch from a tree in Stanley Park. Charlie is on the trail of this witch, who bleeds sexual energy from unsuspecting victims so that she can return to this realm. Larry leads her to Kelsey's Pub, which houses a strange vortex that allows spirits to enter the bodies of heavily inebriated patrons. Ben Carlton visits that pub on a date, ends up unlucky and passed out, awakening in a part of town he never frequents with no clue as to how he came to be there.
With no clues to either, an enigmatic old native, claiming to be a shaman, shows up swearing he knows the answers. Plays tag-your-it and disappears without a trace.

To solve these murders Carol must look beyond her skepticism and believe what appears to be unbelievable.
After a night of drunkenness a reporter wakes up in a part of town he’s never visited and begins investigating why he's having strange nightmares of a life not his. Which begs him to question the validity of the urban myth, when you get drunk enough you don't remember anything you did? Plot Summary

Vancouver’s mayor is found brutally slain in Stanley Park. His family missing.

With no clues to either, an enigmatic old native, claiming to be a shaman, shows up swearing he knows the answers. Plays tag-your-it and disappears without a trace.

After a night of drunkenness a reporter wakes up in a part of town he’s never visited and begins investigating why he's having strange nightmares of a life not his. Which begs him to question the validity of the urban myth, when you get drunk enough you don't remember anything you did? Could it be possible there's a place where spirits might take over to have a little fun on their own?

A slain Hell’s Angel returns from the dead seeking vengence and he ain’t happy.

An ancient witch/succubus has been set free from her imprisonment and will stop at nothing to return to our realm. She never was happy.

The streets of Vancouver threaten to explode in gang war.

And for cavalry to the rescue, a boatload of ancient gods arrives. Only they've been out of action for over two hundred years and haven't quite grasped the concept of modern civilization.

So begins Carol Ainsworth’s first day on the job as a detective.

Some days it just doesn’t pay to quit smoking, drinking, or having illicit sex. Or in her case the age old question, how do you find a disappearing shaman who doesn't want to be found.

Which makes staying in bed or engaging in alligator wrestling suddenly seems like a much safer idea, especially as her boss is far less than happy. In fact he's downright pissed, and he hired her.
