Jessamyn knows there’s a devil that wants her. He comes in the darkness, his power and being calling to her. She fears what comes next, she fears herself. For him, he fears losing her now that she has been found. | |||
The work is a fantasy suspense erotic hot flash that twists and turns around the question of what the characters want and trying to accept their true desires. It’s a bit dark here and there, mostly in setting the stage for later parts to the story. It’s not horror to be clear, though at some points it strays very close to the edge before the true intent of Obscurax, the incubus o the work are explained. | |||
Obscurax is a very unique incubus, not at all stereotypical by any means. He’s a beautiful creature in his own right, perhaps a but gargoyle in a way as the story describes him. There’s a sense of he being tightly wound, on the edge and in being so offers a dangerous aspect to him. | |||
But for Jessamyn. it’s that danger, the power he has, and the difference that he is from her mundane life that begins to carve out a path for them both. It’s a very fast story, the action really doesn’t stop and there’s not a lot of time for reflection for both characters. But that adds something to the story and it’s how the tension between them is explored and overcome that was a delight. | |||

It’s a shame the work is so short, the mythos and world that could have been explored through Obscurax and Jessamyn is something I dearly wanted. It’s unique in many ways and how it all works, and what effects it might have on Jessamyn are something to wonder about. How the work closes offers a path forwards that I would love to see explored and perhaps it might be. | |||

Jessamyn knows there’s a devil that wants her. He comes in the darkness, his power and being calling to her. She fears what comes next, she fears herself. For him, he fears losing her now that she has been found.
The work is a fantasy suspense erotic hot flash that twists and turns around the question of what the characters want and trying to accept their true desires. It’s a bit dark here and there, mostly in setting the stage for later parts to the story. It’s not horror to be clear, though at some points it strays very close to the edge before the true intent of Obscurax, the incubus o the work are explained.
