Aliese just isn’t getting anywhere with her studies as a witch. Nothing works as it should and the challenge to create a familiar isn’t going to be an easy one. But a mistake brings Arden into her life and while it might have been a mistake to her, Arden really doesn’t think the cute witch did that.

The work is an erotic hot flash with a fantasy theme and a focus on the main character summoning an incubus and the events that follow. It’s cute, fun, quite mischievous at times and has a certain innocence about Aliese that just brings me a smile. The work reads very much like a complete story, the characters develop, the story has lovely heat too. But more than anything it is the connection between Arden and Aliese that just captivated me by far.

Arden. the incubus of the work, is anything but stereotypical. He is a tease, he delights in how lost Aliese is with her magic and what she has done too. It’s not evil, far from it, there’s an attraction and that just works in so many ways. Perhaps a bit of a trickster in a way, he does have a focus and a need which flows into the erotica so delightfully well.

The world building was well done, the characters are wonderful and there’s a sense of wonder and discovery that made the work even better still.

Four out of five pitchforks.

It’s just a fun story with quirky characters and a delightful exploration of their situation. How things close left things open for a follow on story, but that didn’t happen, which is a shame and the work was removed from Amazon soon after it appeared. It still is a wonderful read, delightful by far and just a lot of fun.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 1, 2019
