There are those with hungers not satisfied so easily. He was lonely. He was in lust for a woman. She had what he wanted. He had what she wanted. Both had a hunger. A thirst. That could not be denied. But when thirst and hunger become dangerous and deadly, is when romance becomes murder!

Holmes is called onto a case that will challenge his best skills as he investigates a series of murders where men vanish, leaving only salt as their remains. A brand new adventure in a world of magic and Steampunk science as Sherlock Holmes escapes a dying world to find a new life, with a new Watson and a series of challenges he would never have expected in his life before. The game is on in Victorian London, but a different one where shape shifters and monsters roam the night and where every character ever written by an author in our world has become real in that the parallel world.

Book Review

The game is afoot and Holmes finds the game is death at the hands of a succubus. But who is she, why does she pick the victims she does and why, most of all, is the mystery so deep and complex.

The work is something of a Sherlock Holmes mystery adventure with a bit of an erotic tone here and there and a succubus at the centre of it all. The etory mainly follows Holmes in his investigation with little vignettes of the succubus attacks here and there. There is really very little in the way of erotica however, as the core of the story is the investigation, the characters encountered and the solution that comes to the fore.

Mary, the succubus of the story, is quite a unique one with a unique need which when revealed makes a lot of sense. It’s sort of a different view of the succubus mythos that just fits overall. Beyond that, Mary herself is interesting, over the course of the story she becomes more present and given more depth which added a lot to her and succubi in this story universe.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

The work does feel very much like a Holmes mystery adventure with a bit of a twist as well. The succubus aspects are unique and the story built up the mystery to the end quite well.
