The work tells of a conflict between various beings that Saniyah is sandwiched in the middle of. There are various characters that have demon aspects to them, the closest to an incubus being the character called Devil. The erotica overall is tepid and really is a means to add more strife to Saniyah and reveal all that she hasn’t been aware of. It’s sex for the sake of sex and that works for what the story focused on, I just didn’t enjoy the scenes very much. Tied into that, the storytelling felt really rushed, more so than I’d have liked as well. Again, this is part of the darkness of the story, the choices made and the results of them.
It’s hard to really like most of the characters, they aren’t exactly kind or try to bring some light into the story. But the story just doesn’t allow for that. The characters are meant to suffer their fates, Saniyah is meant to travel her path and where that takes her flows into the darkness that blankets the story. As a dark story, it works well, but I couldn’t find a character to like when the story closed.

It’s an interesting and complex beginning to the series overall. But with how fast the story is told I found things a little difficult to sort out clearly. Perhaps allowing for a pause here and there in the telling might have helped overall. There’s a lot of conflict coming to the characters and where that leads to will be interesting.
