As an erotic mystery, it works really well. As a succubus story it leaves something to be desired at least at the point where the series came to an abrupt end. Three out of five pitchforks.

The series just stopped and it’s a shame that it didn’t continue. The succubus hadn’t made herself quite known and it would seem that the next part of the series would bring that. Perhaps it will at some point, perhaps not. It’s an interesting read as a mystery and supernatural story, but to this point it’s not much of a succubus one.

Book Review

Abi finds herself wondering about herself, the world around her and the mysteries that seem to be creeping into her life. Her friend Olivia guides her to find a book which starts Abi on a path she never expected to find. But what is the cost for seeking knowledge and what happens when you have it becomes the question she needs to answer.

The series is a mix of magic, adventure and mystery which combine quite well into a captivating story that becomes a page turner very quickly. The characters develop in unexpected ways, the plot twists and turns and the mystery around them is a delight.

There are some erotic aspects, but they don’t take the characters out of the story or feel over the top either. The heat simmers in the background, peaking here and there to drive Abi onwards in her quest and does so very well.

While there isn’t really an appearance of a succubus, there are points at which aspects of one come to the fore. While not front and centre in the work, the succubus is more of a means to an end, a catalyst for thee story and a means to press onwards towards the climax of the series still to come.

As an erotic mystery, it works really well. As a succubus story it leaves something to be desired at least at the point where the series came to an abrupt end. The third work in the series delves into the succubus aspects a bit more, but it’s mostly in passing and not really core to the story. It’s a tease, a suggestion of things to come.
