Margre has a problem and it starts with her being murdered and transformed into being a succubus. If that wasn’t enough, she also has to deal with being horny all of the time and all the problems that come with being a succubus. Margre, the main character and succubus of the work, interests me. Very much a fish out of water and trying to come to terms with her new reality is wonderfully explored. She’s not evil by any means, but she is a victim of circumstance and it’s the grappling of being so that kept my interest throughout. | |||

The work ends with a note that the story will be continuing at some point and I would be interested to see what comes next. Margre has her moments, the story offers a lot overall. Margre has a problem and it starts with her being murdered and transformed into being a succubus. If that wasn’t enough, she also has to deal with being horny all of the time and all the problems that come with being a succubus. Taken from her reality to one in which everyone’s a player in a game, she will discover that being a succubus is the least of her problems.
The work is a rather complex action adventure story mixed with some delightfully fun succubus erotica. The characters are interesting, the plots are captivating and overall it’s well written and a lot of fun.
But it is LitRPG and as such there is an unending level of interruptions from stat blocks popping up in the middle of action scenes or erotic ones or really at any point at all. That just took me out of the story over and over again to the point where I skimmed over the stats to get back into the story. Having a stat pop up to reinforce that the main character is horny and needs sex, is a lot less interesting than seeing that played out in the storytelling.
Margre, the main character and succubus of the work, interests me. Very much a fish out of water and trying to come to terms with her new reality is wonderfully explored. She’s not evil by any means, but she is a victim of circumstance and it’s the grappling of being so that kept my interest throughout.
If this wasn’t LitRPG I wonder how that would have turned out. The story is good, the characters have depth and there’s a lot to like. But I just can’t get past the unending stat blocks that interrupt the story. There’s something to be said about summarizing at the end of a chapter or making the stats a lot less intrusive.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work ends with a note that the story will be continuing at some point and I would be interested to see what comes next. Margre has her moments, the story offers a lot overall. There has to be a better means to dealing with the stats than what’s happened here and I hope the author can find a way to do so.
