Book Synopsis

Gorgeous blond nightclub singer Cara Firon doesn't look like a monster. But a twisted killer is leaving a trail of bodies in seedy hotel rooms across town and right now, mysterious Cara is detective Todd Brooke's only suspect. Cara knows it's foolish to be drawn to a man who thinks she's a murderer. She is one of the Others, a race of powerful, paranormal creatures who live among humans. Cara's particular abilities make men putty in her hands - all except the rugged, sexy Detective Brooks. As uneasy trust gives way to mind-blowing desire, Cara and Todd will go head-to-head with a killer whose mission is deeply personal, and who's determined to serve up revenge that's hotter than hellfire, and just as deadly.

  • 5 out of 5 stars
  • Paranormal romance as suspenseful as it is sexy

When men begin dying in a very unusual way, suspicion turns to the only Succubus in town - Cara Maloan. After all, every piece of evidence points to a sex demon.

Detective Todd Brooks has seen some pretty strange things on the job lately, but this beats all. He isn't quite sure how to investigate this one, but his gut tells him that the beautiful demon is at the center of it all, even while he hopes that isn't true with every fiber of his being. It's not good to be this attracted to a suspect, not good at all.

Desiring the policeman who is trying to prove her guilty of murder is a little over the top, even for a Succubus who is currently practicing celibacy like Cara. She thought she had a handle on her hunger, having found a way to feed without contact - until she set eyes on the sexy law enforcement officer. Suddenly, her self-control starts to slip - at least where Detective Brooks is concerned!

Once again, author Cynthia Eden delivers a steamy paranormal romance that proves this talented author has what it takes to keep her readers coming back for more again and again!

Midnight Sins has a great mix of good old-fashioned suspense combined with the paranormal elements that are popular with so many of us romance fans. The whodunit plot kept me guessing until the very end of the story, with some very cool plot twists.

Cara's species might be a little unusual for a heroine, but Ms. Eden totally made me believe that this demon has a heart of gold. That's not to say she is a pushover, because she is by no means that. Not by a long shot. She can take care of herself, and has opportunity to show both readers and her hero this when it counts. She is a perfect blend of silk and steel, a combination that seems irresistible to Todd.

As for Todd, he is the quintessential hero. Strong, confident, noble, and sexier than all get out - he sure made my heart go pitter patter! The man makes a few mistakes along the way, but that only serves to make him all the more believable. Plus, he had very good reasons for his actions. In the end, he will let nothing come between him and the woman he loves, not even the fact that she is a demon.

In a genre crowded with paranormal romances, MIDNIGHT SINS is a definite stand-out story. Bravo to Cynthia Eden for a book that thrills lovers of erotic romance, paranormal, and suspense equally!
