Plot Summary

After forming a pact with the ghost of a former student, Lee Amaranth has gained a limited amount of spellcasting ability. It’s anyone’s guess how far three spells per day will take him, however. Now that he’s serving as an apprentice to Harper, his sister’s former lover and the school’s resident ice queen, the expectations on him are higher than ever.

The mystery of what happened to Zoe remains at the forefront of Lee’s mind. When new clues start turning up, he follows them, regardless of where they lead. A new threat, a new damsel-in-distress, and a new dilemma. Lee is forced to juggle his studies, romance, and detective work all while maintaining his guise as a mage.
