Plot Summary
Staff Sergeant Cole Blackwell thought Okinawa would be a routine deployment until the sky tore open and unleashed nightmares from Japan’s darkest myths. Now he’s part of Demon Corps:
A secret task force of soldiers and half-yokai operatives fighting the monsters crawling through the rift and the corruption seeping into their own ranks.
Cole’s blood carries something the others fear: yokai energy, volatile and barely under control. His team—the deadly succubus who leads with fire and secrets, the cool-headed scientist with horns of her own, and a Kitsune whose touch can heal or burn—are the only thing standing between him and the darkness clawing at his soul.
But the deeper they fight into the rift’s chaos, the more Cole learns that the real enemy isn’t just invading from the other side.
It’s what the military did decades ago—and what’s been festering inside him ever since.
