Satyri are a form of Succubi created by online artist DPRagan, who's works can be found on Deviantart.com. Initially, the Satryi were created as an independent character type that DPRagan drew, but he has expanded and codified these Satyri into a variety of different types, as well as created a story universe called the "Magic School Universe" in which these beings are somewhat more well defined.

General Description

Satyri are a form of half human, half succubus mortals. Universally created from the transformation of an unwilling human victim into their current form, there are three types of Satyri depending on the exact situation -- "Soap Satyri", which are Satyri that are created passively by a cursed object (usually soap); "Lillithian Satyri", which are Satyri that are directly transformed by true Succubi; and "The Exiled", a group of rebels fighting against the forces of the Antichrist. The first two are both contained in the "Magic School Universe", a story universe that DPRagan has created, with the Exiled being part of their own unique storyline in an alternate universe.

All Satyri share similar physical features, leaving them looking like rubber-skinned Succubi -- Despite this, they remain almost entirely human on the inside, and retain human souls and free will. However Satyri do have various situations that do cause them to act vaguely similar to true succubi at times -- Soap Satyri, for example, have their taboo about nudity permanently removed from their minds, leaving them with no qualms about casual (and often public) nudity; Lillithian Satyri have all the instincts of a true Succubus, but lack the millennia of experience and supernatural will to resist these lustful urges; The Exiled have a malicious magical effect that causes them to act more and more like a Succubus or Incubus with each passing day.

In the main series, the Satyri transformation almost exclusively involves permanent involuntary gender changing -- Soap Satyri and Lillithians are the result of men (usually virginal men of good moral character) being forcibly transformed into their resultant shapes. The Exiled are an exception, as any gender changes are the result of the malicious wizard or wizards that cause the transformations.[1] Male Exiled Satyri are vastly more common than Male Soap Satyri or Male Lillithian Satyri. Regardless of transformation style, all Satyri are fully functional (read: fertile) in their resultant bodies.

Whether transformed by Lilith Brand Bodywash or kidnapped and drained/transformed by a hungry succubus, these human men -- now mostly-human girls -- have to live with the result.

A pair of small horns is always found peeking out from the hair, these are invariably a still darker shade of their skintone, and tend towards being fairly straight and about 2 inches long. The occasional rare animal style (ram, goat, etc) can be seen, although they remain purely decorative on all Satyri despite their shapes. These horns regrow over time if removed or damaged.

Outside of this hair and their eyebrows, Satyri are hairless under the neck, the vast majority of Satyri skin lacks any form of hair follicles.

Satyri eyes are slit and catlike, although they retain standard human eyesight (albeit with slightly better night vision). Some Satyri gain a black sclera (the "whites of the eyes"), this is most common in Lillithians (who always have this effect manifest), although some Soap Satyri also gain it. Satyri with a black sclera also gain a slightly golden band around their irises, similar to the effect seen in some hazel eyes. This band reflects light but has no bearing on vision. It is heavily implied that all True Succubi have this black sclera effect as well, although this is not common knowledge in the settings.

Some Satyri, even those without this change, manifest black sclera during periods of extreme distress. It is implied this is a defense mechanism of some kind, and this continues until the source of the agitation is removed or resolved.

Similarly to the eyes, Satyri ears are long and elf-like externally. Internally they are unchanged but the ability to move them and the extra size allow Satyri to pick up more sounds than standard human hearing.

Satyri tongues are split like a viper's, and are roughly as maneuverable and stretchy as a frog's. They appear normal (sans a small notch in the middle) at rest, but a Satyri can stretch their tongues out to a full foot, as well as "smell" the air with the tongue like snakes. Similar "snakelike" changes occur to Saytri teeth, which have much more prominent canines. Despite these changes, Satyri remain as omnivorous as humans.

All Satyri also have unguligrade legs, similar to a Satyr of Greek myth (hence the name) or a Draenei from the popular "World of Warcraft" MMORPG. These legs end in cloven hooves (technically Satyri toenails) and are slightly longer than normal legs, but are folded inward slightly to compensate -- a Satyri's height is relatively unchanged after their transformation. Satyri do require physical therapy to re-learn how to walk after their changes, however after this training they are as mobile as a human.

Satyri universally have a thick tail ending in a heart or triangle shaped spade, this tail is fully prehensile, but remains under the control of the Satyri's subconscious, not conscious, mind. Satyri emotions are easily discerned by the motions and posturing of the tail; the tail also acts as a natural counterbalance, helping the Satyri walk on their new legs.

Some Satyri, particularly those who have "fallen" to full demonhood, have wings, although this is exceedingly rare. No Satyri can fly without magical assistance, although this magical assistance is instinctive to fallen Satyri.

Satyri Subtypes

Three known variants of Satyri exist, the Soap Satyri and the Lillithian Satyri (or Lillithian for short) in the Magic School Universe, and the Exiled in the Revelations Universe.

Soap Satyri are by far the most common form of Satyri. These are Satyri that have been transformed by cursed objects, most commonly "Lilith Brand Body-wash." Aside from the typical physical attributes all Satyri share, the defining quirk of the Soap Satyri is their penchant for casual nudity; all Soap Satyri have a form of damage or modification to their ventromedial frontal lobe, the part of the brain that handles decision making, risk assessment, and fear responses. This damage permanently prevents Soap Satyri from feeling any urge to dress or cover their nude bodies in any way.

Other quirks that Soap Satyri share are their reactions to Chocolate and Holy items. Chocolate is highly appealing to Soap Satyri, to the of near addiction. They metabolize chocolate in any form very quickly and excessively, causing a pointed sexual arousal when they consume it. This effect is enhanced the more cocoa the chocolate contains, excessively dark chocolate is rumored to be enough to overcome any and all Satyri inhibitions about sex.

Holy items and relics such as blessed holy water or religious icons also cause a certain amount of arousal and, in the case of holy water, a natural disrobing effect -- in other words, being exposed to religion tends to leave a Satyri naked and horny. This appears to be a remnant of whatever magical effect causes the transformation; it is suspected this effect exists mostly to cause strife between religious authorities and Satyri victims.

Bits and pieces of these effects are common knowledge, for example it is well known that if you wish to bribe a Satyri, bring chocolate. Holy water especially is a common prank to use on unsuspecting Satyri: Upon being splashed with holy water, any clothing the Satyri is wearing has a tendency to disintegrate, one piece at a time, depending on the amount of water used. As Satyris generally do not see nudity as a problem, it is very common to splash a Satyri with stolen or black market holy water and then watch as victim makes a naked fool of themselves over the next few hours.

Lillithian Satyri are the other, lesser known type of Satyri. These are Satyri that have been actively transformed by a "mother" Succubus, not unlike how a Vampire can turn a Human victim into a thrall. Aside from the typical physical attributes all Satyri have, Lillithians all universally have black sclera (the "whites of the eyes"), which is related to their defining quirk: Lillithian souls contain a fragment of a Succubus soul inside them, which means they share the same hunger for yang essence as their "mother." This hunger comes with Succubus instincts, which push them towards more and more outrageous (and more succubus-like) behavior between feedings, in a cycle commonly called the "Nude/Lewd/Food" cycle for the 3 behaviors they push the Lillithian into taking.

This feeding must take the form of sexual acts with a male partner -- the more sexual, the more yang essence they can extract. While this is extremely pleasurable for both partners, a true Succubus can go further, ripping out the very essence of what makes a man spiritually male -- and plugging the resultant hole with a fragment of her own essence. The result is an extremely painful process that permanently leaves the victim a newborn Lillithian Satyri.

Unlike Soap Satyri, Lillithians are technically partially supernatural (one common term for them in occult circles is "Demi-Succubi"), and do have to worry about the state of their mortal soul. With sufficient sin, their Succubus soul can displace their Human soul outright, turning them permanently into a Succubus. Lillithians can gauge how much danger they are in by the color of their irises, the more yellow, the more sin they are holding in their souls and thus the more danger they are in of turning. These "Fallen" Lillithians, now newborn Succubi, invariably seek out new and interesting men to feed upon, no doubt turning at least a few of them into Lillithians themselves, which suggests that the entire Lillithian Succubi process is actually a form of Succubus reproduction.

Unlike normal Soap Satyri all Lillithian Satyri have at least some talent with shapeshifting magic. While they cannot hide their more obvious attributes (they're always fantastically attractive women and usually can't help but look like Satyri), they can (and do) abuse these powers in the pursuit of seducing (and feeding on) men. A Lillithian Satyri who loses control and instinctively feeds will also instinctively randomize their appearance, covering their tracks fairly well.

The Exiled are a group of Satyri from another world. Unlike the main series Soap and Lillithian Satyri, Exiled are typical humans who have been transformed into Satyri by magic, which is still a secret on their world. As a rule they retain human modesty and have completely human souls, merely gaining the physical appearances of Satyri.

Exiled Satyri live mostly in areas away from human civilization, in the destroyed areas of what was once the United States. Unlike other Satyri, they are on very bad terms with Humanity, being ostracized for refusing cybernetic implants (the so called "Mark of the Beast") in the aftermath of the disaster that devastated the United States.

Satyri and Nudity

It's well known (and often joked about) that Satyri have issues remembering to wear clothing after their change, although most people are not aware as to how severe this effect really is. Originally thought to be a quirk of the transformation, it is in reality a form of accidental damage (or malicious modification) to the decision making part of the Satyri brain. This manifests as a complete lack of the ability to associate shame with nudity, or otherwise experience any form of modesty or embarrassment about being nude.

Soap Satyri simply do not -- and can never -- feel any discomfort, awkwardness, or humiliation at being nude. The time and place do not matter -- Soap Satyri feel equally comfortable in the nude around friends or strangers, in private or public, work or home. A Soap Satyri left to her own devices would spend their entire lives in the nude, without feeling the slightest pang of distress about their constant nudity.

This is not a form of exhibitionism nor nudism, rather it is an insideous form of brain damage. In Soap Satyri, the part of the brain that handles decision making, the ventromedial frontal lobe, has a form of scarring that utterly prevents the mental connections required for them to feel any form of modesty, shame, or urgency about covering themselves. Worse, as this is a form of permanent brain damage, Soap Satyri can never gain a taboo about being naked; A Soap Satyri that has been transformed for 20 years feels just as comfortable naked as one that was changed that morning.

Soap Satyri do understand that humanity wears clothing, although this knowledge is academic to the Soap Satyri. They understand it as a form of uninteresting trivia; "Humans wear clothing, and often spend a lot of money on clothing." That is the extent of the Soap Satyri's thoughts on the matter without further effort; at no point does the Soap Satyri make a natural connection that they should wear clothing as well.

With additional thought on the matter, a Soap Satyri can be reminded that humans have a taboo about nudity and hangups about their nude bodies. This is a seperate leap of logic than merely grasping that humans wear clothing; all Soap Satyri know that humans wear clothing, but it takes a bit more thought to remember that they do so because they don't want to be nude. However, much like the knowledge of humanity wearing clothing, this is purely an academic understanding -- Soap Satyri can never feel any particular urge to cover their nude bodies themselves.

Combining the above, Soap Satyri will typically not dress themselves unless given a good reason to do so -- weather (a coat) or safety (an apron) being the main reasons. Merely being nude is no excuse for a Satyri to dress -- the thought literally never enters their mind. However, after a certain amount of training they can be reminded that humanity feels uncomfortable with nudity, and that they are expected to dress when being in polite company with humanity.

This does not immediately result in the Soap Satyri dressing on a daily basis; the Soap Satyri may know academically that humanity wears clothing in public (and expect them to do so as well), but merely knowing this does not result in them gaining any particular urge to do so. As a result, Soap Satyri frequently simply forget about clothing until someone else reminds them; their reaction upon doing so will not be shame, but a "d'oh" moment befitting what they see as a minor faux pas.

Clothing choices can be pragmatic or confused as well -- a Soap Satyri feels no urge to cover themselves, so they do not generally grasp the fundamentals of human fashion. Soap Satyri are just as likely to throw on a long t-shirt or coat (and nothing else) to placate humans as they are to throw on a simple t-shirt and jeans. As they feel no particular urge to hide themselves nor any embarassment about doing so they are likely to pick whatever is most pragmatic for the given situation, and remove it whenever they feel like they are allowed to do so.

This is literally the best a Soap Satyri's friends can hope for -- an academic understanding of modesty and politely wearing clothes when reminded. A Soap Satyri will never actually gain any form of modesty about their bodies nor taboo about being nude, but many can learn to fake it when asked. Worse, depending on the Satyri's personality they may take offense at being forced to imitate humanity in this way -- they don't feel any embarassment, so why should they fake it for the benefit of humanity. As the number of Satyri grow these so called Satyri "Activists" are not an uncommon sight.

Because this is a form of brain damage, traditional treatments such as therapy cannot work. More modern treatments, such as surgery or magical cures, also do not work, because the part of the Satyri's mind is damaged and missing. The fact that this seems to be specifically designed to bypass humanity's free will and any form of treatment is not lost on the more knowledgable occult researchers who are aware of the phenomina.

Lillithian Satyri Instincts

Lillithian Satyri are an exception to the rule about Satyri and the nudity taboo, although most Lillithians would insist they do not come out ahead in the deal.

Whereas Soap Satyri lose the ability to understand nudity and it's cultural implications, Lillithian Satyri certainly do understand it, but are also given Succubi instincts that influence their behavior at all times.

These urges grow constantly in severity and strength the longer a Lillithian goes without male "essence", a nebulous form of spiritual energy that all true succubi require to live. Feeding on male "essence" is exclusively only possible via sexual contact with members of the opposite sex -- the more sexual, the more nourishing they find the act. While minor sexual contact such as kissing or heavy petting can be a nice snack, it is hardly nourishing -- only actual sexual acts can fully nourish a Lillithian's need for essence. As they are constantly burning up this essence as a food source, they consistently need to replenish it, meaning they must feed off of (read: have sex with) a man roughly every one to two weeks. Unfortunately, it takes longer than that for a human male to regenerate this essence, meaning that they cannot feed off the same man twice in a row. Effectively this means that they are forced to constantly find new random sex partners.

It is utterly impossible for a Lillithian to practice monogamy in any realistic fashion, nor is it possible for a Lillithian to avoid somewhat regular sexual contact with random men -- they literally need to in order to live. Lillithian Satyri that fancy themselves as asexual, monogamous, or "neo-heterosexual" (so called lesbian Lillithians) get this distressing aspect of their new lives added onto any other despair they may be feeling after their change.

As a mixed blessing, their instincts are very helpful in helping them feed, allowing them to sense appropriate men and subconsciously guiding their powers to extract essence in a relatively safe manner. Unfortunately, instincts that help a Lillithian feed are directly opposed to letting a Lillithian live a normal, human life. As these instincts become more powerful and harder to ignore the longer a Lillithian goes without feeding, the Lillithian's ability to fit in with normal human society diminishes greatly.

The cycle of the Satyri is known coloqueally as the Nude/Lewd/Food cycle due to the behaviors it forces Lillithians to partake in:

The first week since the Satyri last filled herself on Essence is the Nude Week. Over the first week the Satyri slowly loses becomes more and more annoyed by the act of wearing clothing. It starts off as an uncomfortable feeling when first putting clothing on, but grows into a feeling of burning pain whenever they wear clothes as the week goes on. By the end of the week the Satyri feels stifled and overhwelmed by even the lightest clothing, with a feeling not unlike a sunburn constantly harrassing them wherever their clothing touches their skin.

Around the end of this week the first willpower break of the Lillithian occurs -- their will snaps, and their body disrobes themselves without their permission. From this point forward they are unable to bring themselves to dress or otherwise cover their body, their instinctive need to be nude overpowers all conscious thought. Most Satyri fall apart before reaching this point, partially due to it requiring more effort to dress than remain dressed -- most Satyri only discover they are at this point in their cycles when they go to dress and simply can't.

The second week starts the Lewd Week. Towards the end of the previous week they have felt a steadily growing sexual arousal, their bodies telling them that they are hungry for essence. Over the course of this week this arousal grows and begins to affect the Satyri's behavior. Poses and word choices become increasingly lewd without the Satyri's knowledge, if a Lillithian can think of a more sexualized way to do something at this time they will do so. The Satyri remains unaware of any such lewd motions they make at this time, however if they are made aware they can resist acting in this way.

This urge grows in strength as the week progresses, until the end of the week when it reaches a crecendo. By this point the Satyri has their second major willpower break -- the lose the ability to stop acting lewd. They become a somewhat passive observer in their bodies, able to dictate general terms ("Go to town," "Pick up that book," etc) but unable to resist the urge to titillate any and all onlookers while doing so. When not actively doing anything, their bodies strike out on their own, acting as sexual as the Lillithian's subconscious can think of. Most Satyri at this point in their cycles try to minimize their contact with others, with limited success.

The third week is the Food Week. By this point the Satyri has been helplessly nude for over a week, with painful bouts of arousal for that entire time. For the past few days this arousal combined with instinctive help has led to the Satyri acting wonton with everyone and anyone they encounter. As the third week goes on, the Satyri loses the battle against these instincts outright - the lewd behavior migrates to outright sexual propositioning of anyone and everyone.

Initially the Satyri can resist this urge, correcting and apologizing for themselves afterwards, but this quickly leads to the third and final breakdown in willpower, the so called "Frenzy Point" -- the Satyri becomes a completely passive observer in their bodies, watching as they preoposition man after man until they successfully feed. The instincts activate two important abilities that the Lillithians have innately -- the Satyri can "sense" any men nearby that have essence available to safely feed on, and the Satyri's innate shapeshifting ability subconsciously kicks in. Any Satyri that reaches this point usually does so anonymously.

After feeding the urges their instincts force upon them go back to a manageable level, although no single man can fully sate a Lillithian's hunger, meaning that after feeding a Lillithian could be at nearly any point along their cycle. It is far more likely that a post-"frenzy point" Lillithian will still be trapped somewhere during the early to mid part of the Lewd Week, meaning they are mere days away from another frenzy. The only way to completely sate their hunger is to voluntarily find sexual partners to feed off of without being forced to by instinct, it is only by doing so that they can climb out of the later weeks of their cycles and gain a precious few days of relative peace and normalcy.

It is no accident that the only way for a Lillithian to "break free" and go back to a normal life is to feed regularly under their own power, intentionally choosing to act like a succubus in order to prevent being forced to act even more like one.

Unfortunately for Lillithians, there is literally no way out of this cycle. As they now have part of a Succubus soul inside them they are constantly burning up Yang essence and thus are trapped in the cycle for their entire lives. Tragically, around the end of the fourth week without feeding the Lillithian will literally starve to death, their bodies running out of the Yang Essence their succubus soul requires to function. This requires some form of external influence -- no Human, Satyri, nor even Succubus can resist the urge to feed this long. By this point any and all Succubi (and Lillithians, to an extent) in the area can sense the growing despair of the Lillithian. In addition the Lillithian's natural shapeshifting abilities make restraining them in this way somewhat difficult, making instances of this sort are extremely rare. Anyone trying to torture or misguidedly trying to "help" a Lillithian by simply restraining them and refusing to let them feed will find themselves quickly having to answer to her "sisters," who will not be amused.

A post-transformation Lillithian Satyri's life is a constant, losing battle against this incessant and growing need to act like stereotypical Succubus -- rejecting clothing, acting increasingly lewd at all times, and feeding off of (read: having sex with) any men they can get their hands on. Invariably, Lillithians gain a not undeserved reputation for being (or at least, acting like) a Succubus in all but name due to this cycle. Unfortunately, most people do not differentiate between Lillithians and Soap Satyri (indeed, most do not know there are two types), meaning all Satyri gain these reputations.


While the source of the Lillithian Satyri's instincts is well known -- the Queen of the Succubi finds this permanent sexual torment to be amusing -- It is unknown as to why the modification of the Soap Satyri mind comes into play, although several theories exist:

One popular theory is that whatever demonic essence causes the transformation resides in the Satyri's mind at or around that point during the transformation process, causing the damage. Another popular theory is that this change causes Satyri to inadvertently tempt mankind, increasing the ambient level of lust in the world and making the Succubi's jobs easier. Still another theory is that the Satyri's appearance heralds the return of other magical races such as Elves, Fae, and Were-creatures, none of which are traditionally viewed as having similar cultural nudity taboos as humanity.

Satyri Fashion

Soap Satyri tend to have a somewhat "pragmatic" feeling towards fashion. They never feel any urge to cover their bodies, so any clothing they do wear is almost always for the benefit of the humans in their lives -- and more specifically, to avoid drawing even more attention to themselves.

This lack of modesty affects their clothing choices in several ways. The most obvious is that in casual settings -- when alone or around understanding friends -- Soap Satyri simply don't bother dressing. It is only when they are given some form of pressure -- social, societal, or environmental -- that they ever bother with wearing anything at all.

Typically a Soap Satyri's choice in clothing when entering society is similar to the clothing they wore before they were changed -- masculine or gender neutral casual wear such as t-shirts and jeans, for example. Despite feminine clothing being significantly more practical for a Soap Satyri's legs, almost no Soap Satyri switches to women's clothing without some outside factor -- most commonly the advice of a therapist -- pushing them to do so.

The Soap Satyri's tail and legs make wearing standard lower body clothing difficult -- the tail can be easily worked around by avoiding undergarments and cutting slits in pants for it to stick through, but the Satyri's legs are significantly longer, and their hooves somewhat wider, than a standard human's lower leg. Any pants a Satyri wishes to wear need to have extra large legs and be extra long to fit; roughly 33% longer than a standard pair of pants. A far easier solution is to simply cut off the jeans at the knee, leaving the Satyri's lower legs bare.

In addition, one must also take into account that Satyri skin is more sensitive to the touch and signifciantly more rubbery than human flesh -- and thus, tends to have more friction. Materials such as denim which would be fine against human flesh tend to chafe painfully when rubbed or held against a Satyri's skin for prolonged periods of time. Undergarments and tight jeans are the biggest offenders here, Soap Satyri quickly learn to hate these forms of clothing.

To bypass all these problems, clothing designed specifically for Satyri is available, usually online or in specialty boutiques. Clothing made specifically for Satyris tends to be lighter, and has accomidations for the Satyri's unique body -- for example, Satyri "blue jeans" tend to be made of lighter cotton or polyester materials, with longer, more open legs and a slit built into the back to accomidate the Satyri's tail. However, these clothes are typically so rare and expensive that most Soap Satyri simply make do with modified human clothing instead.

Many Soap Satyri find themselves weighing the benefits of dressing in "proper" human attire versus simply hiding their nudity in some quick and easy fashion. A long nightshirt or trench coat, for example, is equally effective at hiding their nudity as a t-shirt and a distressingly difficult to wear pair of pants. Most Soap Satyri find it just plain easier to simply grab a trench coat and use that as makeshift clothing when making a quick excusion out into public, especially if they are in a hurry -- and that's assuming they remember even that much. This stereotype, that of the "Flashin' Succubus", is prevelant enough to be a common Soap Satyri joke or insult.

None of this should imply that Soap Satyri do not feel any urges towards fashion or other fashion trends; Soap Satyri do have opinions about their body and how it looks while in clothing, they simply do not normally feel any particular hangups about being nude nor any urge to wear clothes; Satyri can appreciate attractive clothing, can easily pick out clothing that makes them look good, but feel just as comfortable in the nude as they do in their Sunday finest.

Outside of clothing, Soap Satyri frequently find some enjoyment in wearing jewelry and other accouterments; many of the underlying urges that would bring a human to wear designer clothing often lead Soap Satyri to wear jewelry instead. This combines quite interestingly with the Soap Satyri's lack of a nudity taboo; a Soap Satyri is just as likely to wear a pendant on a necklace as they are to wear it on a chain hanging off the end of their tail or even a tasteful clitoris ring; the Soap Satyri is able to appreciate the beauty in each of these configurations and sees nothing good nor bad about any specific one.

Satyri and Society

After their transformation, new Satyri are left to their own devices to re-integrate themselves in their previous lives. They retain all their previous memories, although this is colored by their changes -- for example, a Soap Satyri can remember wearing clothing, but no longer understand just why it was so important to them before.

Enough people are aware of the situation that Satyri usually do not have any problems getting new ID and their identities switched over; the biggest challenge most Satyri experience immediately after their change is the need for physical therapy to learn how to walk on their new legs.

Satyri and Humanity

Satyri are generally, as a whole, well accepted in most of the societies DPRagan has described. Some bigotry has been mentioned -- Christian fundamentalists harassing or even killing Satyri for example -- but a few stories involve a high school aged boy being turned into a Satyri and still going to his old school, suggesting there is at least some level of acceptance.

Most humans are mostly preoccupied with the Satyri's obvious physical changes -- a sub-race of extremely attractive nudists generates many jokes and much good will, especially on late night talk shows. Many humans believe that Satyri are minor Succubi or other form of demons or aliens, although this varies with how ignorant the audience is. The vast majority seem to think they are harmless, whatever they are -- if they're aliens, their quirks can be handwaved away, if they're really demons they're certainly not acting like the fire and brimstone type, and some (the Soap Satyri) are so innocent that it's endearing.

Fortunately, the Satyri have appeared in an age post-sexual liberation, meaning that a person occasionally forgetting to dress or seeking out consensual recreational sex partners is not terribly shocking. The general consensus seems to be that these strange possibly demonic girls are harmless and are probably only after a "good time" with poor innocent human men... and that's perfectly ok with the average poor innocent human man.

The knowledge that all Satyri (barring the occasional true Succubus in disguise) used to be men is not very well known to the public at large and is considered a strange Internet rumor by most; Most Satyri tend to be reserved about discussing this fact with strangers who did not know them pre-change.

Soap Satyri that learn they must put on clothing before entering certain situations get re-integrated with human society much faster; Satyri that cannot grasp this concept usually find some form of support (friends, family members, posters on the door, etc) that remind them. Those that reject the idea or simply cannot fake human modesty have limited access to human society -- depending on the area, a nude Satyri walking about will garnish anything from harassment, assault, arrest or (in suitably liberal or laid back areas) bemused acceptance.

Due to all Satyri being almost as attractive as true succubi, many people (particularly men) are willing to overlook (or even encourage) this quirk; the frequent "relapse" of Soap Satyri also helps to desensitize many to the sight of casual, nonsexual Satyri nudity. As the number of Satyri in the world grow and more humans come to understand their inability to feel modesty or body shame the occasions of Satyri getting away with staying undressed in public for increasing amounts of time is steadily growing. It's not unheard of in more liberal or more Satyri-heavy areas to see the occasional Satyri dining out, making quick shopping trips, or even attending class in the nude, with the locals not batting an eye.

Lillithian Satyri remain a tragic exception to the rule; they understand (and generally want to) dress in order to fit in with human society, but are constantly battered by a growing compulsive need to obey the instincts their cycles enforce upon them. Invariably they bounce between somewhat normal (if a bit under-dressed) behavior and bouts of compulsive, hypersexualized nudity that can only end with the Lillithian finding a random sexual partner. Tragically, the amount of control these instincts have over them is directly proportional to how much they fight them -- Lillithians who enjoy casual sex partners early in the cycle tend towards being able to control themselves better, but at the cost of "giving in" to their new lifestyles.

Most rumors about Satyri being perpetually naked, uninhibited sex creatures are the direct result of Lillithians publicly losing control; while Lillithians instinctively use their shape changing ability for anonymity while losing control, this only shifts the blame for these sexual acts to "some random Satyri" instead of them directly. All of this is made all the more tragic as Lillithian Satyri fully understand how their actions are perceived and the reputation they gain by acting the way they do, but are helpless to stop themselves past a few short days into their cycles.

Even more frustrating is the fact that even at the best of times the instincts Lillithians feel are constantly pushing them towards acting like the stereotypical media representation of Satyri; as most people are not aware of their constant struggle against these urges Lillithian Satyri are frequently tortured not only by their own sexual impulses, but by friends, family and coworkers who simply do not understand how hard Lillithians have to work at not giving in to these urges far more often.

Many Lillithians give up hope as feelings of despair build up over the months after their change, the realization that this cycle of "nude-lewd-food" will never end shattering their will to resist; instead of putting themselves through this constant sexual torment to attempt to mimic their previous, human lives these "Fallen" Lillithians embrace the lifestyle their instincts force upon them, relying on the well known yet incorrect "facts" about Satyri to get away with acting like perpetually naked, uninhibited sex creatures. In doing so they risk falling from grace, turning into True Succubi in the process, although they do gain some measure of peace by giving in and "letting their hair down."

Still more Lillithians bounce between the two extremes, bouts of extreme guilt and self loathing interlaced with frustration fueled "binges" of Succubus-like behavior.

Ironically, this is actually very close to the ideal solution to the Lillithian's instinctive trap -- by choosing to embrace their instincts on their own terms, the instincts lose much of their power over them. Lillithians who choose to voluntarily stay nude obviously never feel urges to strip naked (and are much more likely to stomach the discomfort that comes when they do decide to dress), those that embrace their sexual natures have a far steadier hand and more experience recognizing appropriate outlets for it, and those that find regular consensual sex partners seldom want for fresh essence -- meaning they never lose control and all of their urges are more manageable.

These are the only three endpoints to the Lillithian condition -- constant sexual torment as they fight a losing battle against their sexual urges, possibly "falling" and turning into a true succubus as their sin overtakes them, or embracing their sexual natures and finding a balance between their former human lives and their new, more sexual existences. Most Lillithians, including those that fight their urges tooth and nail and those that give in but do not fall, end up reaching this "Swinger Satyri" middle ground over time, subconsciously striking an acceptable balance between the two extremes of their new lives.

Satyri Spirituality

Religious people are more likely to react poorly to Satyri presences, and the feeling is mutual -- as part of their transformation, the presence of religious items tends to leave Soap Satyri with a vague feeling of sexual arousal, furthering or cementing the impression that they are Succubi in the minds of bigots. Ironically this also cuts off Satyri from the one group that could possibly find a cure to their situation -- occult and quantum researchers with the various religious organizations throughout the world.

Satyri, as a whole, are not affected spiritually by the change; a Christian Human becomes a Christian (albeit somewhat more guilt ridden) Satyri, a Buddhist Human becomes a Buddhist Satyri, etc etc. It's not uncommon for a Satyri to have a crisis of faith post-change, the result of which depends almost entirely on the support (if any) they receive from their religious community.

Unfortunately, many "Fire and Brimstone" style Fundamentalists use Satyri as an easy target for hate speech, in addition many religious figures, even open minded ones, have trouble coming to terms with the Satyri's appearances and their quirks (nudity in the case of Soap Satyri, sexuality in the case of Lillithians). Most Satyri rapidly become ostracized from their faith, it taking one instance of a Soap Satyri arriving to Church in their finest Sunday lingerie or a Lillithian's Willpower breaking down in the middle of mass to cement the "Satyri = Succubi" connection in most religious minds.

All Satyri are effectively normal humans as far as spirituality is concerned, with mortal (and redeemable) souls; Lillithians with their implanted fragments of a Succubus soul are the only ones in direct danger of damnation by their mere existence. Lillithians who feed only for sustenance do not commit a sin by doing so, this includes all forms of sexual feeding, including voluntary feeding in order to avoid slipping into later weeks of the cycle. The implications therein (that sex itself, even casual, extramarital sex, isn't a sin) are not appreciated by most Fundamentalists.

In the story settings that have magic, Satyri tend to be more magically attuned than the average human, but this is not a hard and fast rule. As mentioned above, all Lillithians can shapeshift and "sense" essence. A few rare Satyri have wings (and Lillithians who have trained their natural shapeshifting skills can create them at will), which require magical power to use (they are not sized properly for natural flight, only gliding).

Satyri and Super/Pseudo-naturals

Succubi and Fallen Lillithians tend to be very protective of Satyri, although this is almost always in the form of anonymous support; a Succubus is far more likely to hide as a normal human and offer help to a Satyri than approach them in Succubus form. The "mother" succubus who converts a Lillithian Satyri will usually keep track of the newborn, especially if she was fond of the man before changing him. (If she wasn't particularly fond of him, she is just as likely to keep track of the Lillithian to torment them at random times throughout their lives.)

Satyri that experience extensive harassment can usually count on any Succubi in the area retaliating in some fashion; many a Satyri that has been harassed or attacked by someone will find the attacker has either vanished (consumed outright or banished to hell) or gained themselves a karmic transformation into a Lillithian Satyri. Unfortunately, this only adds to the distrust and mystique around the Satyri.

Soap Satyri get along with each other fairly well, however having multiples in the same social circle can be detrimental to any of them grasping the concept of clothing. As all Soap Satyri have the same inability to understand the need for clothing, having two or more together almost invariably leads to at least a short period of them deciding it's everyone else being weird, not them. Fortunately, Soap Satyri are much more likely to listen to another Satyri when they explain the issue, in addition Soap Satyri are uniquely capable of explaining humanity's odd perspective on nudity in terms that other Soap Satyri can understand.

Lillithians who are part of the same social circles usually have a supportive effect on each other's willpower, with some reservations -- a Lillithian who loses control will almost invariably cause others to lose control with them; For example, the sight of another Lillithian Satyri not wearing clothing is usually enough to cause Lillithians who are otherwise resisting the urge to give in and strip as well. It takes a very small amount of time before all Lillithians in a group have the same, or nearly the same, cycles. This can lead to competition for male essence and strife amongst the group, although most Lillithians are glad to have someone who "gets" their constant struggle against their urges. Many Lillithian friends end up hunting in "packs", especially if a suitable hunting ground (bar, frat house, etc) is available nearby.

Lillithians and Soap Satyri get along fairly well, although Lillithians tend to be jealous of the Soap Satyri's relative innocence and lack of any form of instincts forcing them into sexual behavior; similarly, Soap Satyri are concerned about the Lillithian Satyri's sexual natures causing strife between all Satyri and humanity -- while a Soap Satyri has a tendency to live the majority of their lives in the nude, often in public, they are quite literally innocent of any lewd thoughts about this. Meanwhile, a Lillithian absolutely refusing to go along with any of their instincts will helplessly spend upwards of 50 to 75 percent of their lives naked against their will, with the majority of this time having their spirits battered by horrific feelings of arousal and regular bouts of acute nymphomania.

Typically a Lillithian will be concerned, annoyed, or bemused by the Soap Satyri's outright lack of a nudity taboo, depending on how prudish they are themselves and how friendly they are with the Soap Satyri; if they are friends a Lillithian will usually be the one that finally makes progress convincing the Soap Satyri that humans find nudity itself unusual. This unfortunately works both ways, a Soap Satyri literally cannot comprehend why a Lillithian would wear clothing if it upsets them so much; their concerned interventions against what they see as horrifically self-destructive and utterly incomprehensible Lillithian behavior (i.e., wearing clothes) are a frequent cause of Lillithian willpower breaking down early, leaving them helplessly nude hours or days earlier than their cycles would normally dictate.

Those Satyri that remain or are trapped in hell are usually used as clerical personnel by the true Demons; one particular reoccurring storyline involves a temp agency that is actually working for a Demonic social services company in hell, all workers hired for this position are transformed into Satyri for the duration of their work shifts. Satyri share the Succubi's near unique disposition that they can survive equally comfortably in pocket-dimensions that are similar to Hell as well as on Earth, the lack of a taboo about nudity may be related to the temperatures in Hell (which preclude all but the briefest of clothing).

Satyri of all types tend to cluster in support groups and their own neighborhoods, similarly to cultural specific areas in the real world like New York City's Chinatown or gay bars. These "Satyri friendly" areas such as dance clubs, bars, stores and apartment buildings are much more accepting of Satyri instincts and nonsexual nudity, although they are extremely rare and often targeted for harassment by bigots and perverts. The fact that the Satyri transformations are taking place in the age of the Internet has been very good for them, Satyri usually can count on some measure of acceptance online.

Satyri gatherings are the stuff of common Internet jokes, as Satyri certainly see no need to wear clothing when in the company of their own kind. Satyri membership in naturist organizations such as the American Association for Nude Recreation or the "Satyri Society for Body Acceptance" is incredibly high; these organizations have active outreach programs for newly transformed Satyri and their families, including therapy, brochures, legal help and posters to try and help Soap Satyris understand the nudity taboo.

Specific Satyri Storylines

The Satyri exist in a multitude of DPRagan's works, being somewhat of a mascot character type of his. Originally in their own storyverse, most Satyri material has been merged with the Magic School Universe setting (detailed below).

The Exiled

One particular Satyri storyline, "The Exiled", involves humans being forcibly given computer implants by a particularly charismatic leader who turns out to be the Antichrist -- these chips turn out to be the mythical "mark of the Beast." Those that refuse are magically transformed to Satyri to ruin their credibility with humanity. Those that survive the procedure are usually killed by the Antichrist's army as a PR ploy, those that escape join communities of like minded individuals in the destroyed areas of the United States. Unlike standard Satyri, these Exiled Satyri retain human modesty and are, as a whole, not gender swapped, retaining a mostly human ratio of male to female Satyri.

A similar storyline involving the main universe's "Soap Satyri" being placed into concentration camps was dropped outright when the Satyri storyline was merged with the Magic School Universe.

Hellhouse

A "slightly darker" take on the Satyri, Hellhouse revolves around experienced succubus Morrigan infecting a human embryo much like how a Lillithian Satyri is created. 18 years later, she came to collect, activating the demonic seed that had grown up in equal parts with the human part of Carson's existence. Caitlin, or rather the young Succubus Caililth, must now learn the ropes of being one of the lustful and damned...

Soap Story

An early multi-parter, Soap Story told the story of "Alexa", a high school boy who was transformed as a result of Lilith Brand Bodywash. Some highlights of this series include the revelation that chocolate affects Satyri as an aphrodisiac, that the world the Satyri are in is aware enough that the authorities have procedures in place for handling victims of the bodywash, and that Soap Satyri require physical therapy to re-learn how to walk.

The Artist's Original description of Satyri

The following is a slightly cleaned up explanation of Satyri as written by the artist DPRagan and posted on his Deviantart page.[2] The Magic School Universe document is considered more up to date than this, and most information has been adjusted and included in the above description.

Physical

The internal organs of Satyri are identical to those a human if only slightly tougher. The skin of the Demi-Succubus bears a strong biological resemblance to that of natural latex. The hide covers nearly the entire body, with the only exception of where it meets the hooves, at which point it sometimes becomes scaly. Satyri have no whites in their eyes, there is only a dark shade that seems to absorb most light. The irises vary in shade from the human normal color range to exotic colors. However, all have to some degree yellow near their slit pupils. Satyri have smallish to medium sized horns and they regenerate if broken or sawed off. Demi-Succubae have a three to four foot long fully prehensile tail capable of grasping objects with their spade shaped tip. The tails have clusters of "knot-like" neurons that can cause it to behave erratically at times, usually in a manner that is annoying to the owner, however this can be controlled with practice.

Satyri legs are comparable to humans, and identical to the point of the kneecaps. Below that point, the calves and bones of the lower legs are half the size of a human's and unguligraded, with long foot bones that end in cloven hooves. The mouth of the Demi-Succubus has several diffrences from that of a human. Both the upper and lower canines are elongated and pointed. Demi-Succubus tongues while appearing normal, other then a short slit along the last quarter inch of the tip, are actually elastic like a frog's, but with more control and are able to taste the air similarly to that of a snake's.

Spiritually

Demi-Succubae are still mortal in that they are living breathing creatures that eat food just like the rest of us. They do have special physical dietary needs that can be taken care of in their home "pocket" realm. They still possess Agency or free will, and their finale fates are determined by their actions. The yellow of their eyes gives them a good indication of their position on the path towards becoming demonic in nature. The more yellow seen indicates the worse off they are, and how likely they are to cross over into being a True demon. No one knows what happens if the yellow disappears, but there is speculation, ranging from returning to being a normal human to transforming into an angel, or possibly nothing.


Other interesting info

Demi-Succubae don't really sweat. The shininess on their latex skins is produced by the skins excreting oils to keep the latex shiny. But that has little to do with temprature regulation of their bodies. (That being less than 2%.) They displace heat through their spade shapped tailfin (5%), and their horns and ears (10%). This can make them a little on the warm side, so the rest is absorbed into their "Mana" pool. (At least that is what the author is going with at the moment.)

The Process

The transformation process starts with a True Succubus choosing a virgin male of generally upright moral standing. Changing someone who is already doing evil is redundant to them. She then forces sexual activity with him in her realm. She can even take over his peripherial nervous system to make him preform for her if needed. She draws the yang energy out while replacing it with a part of her dark essence.

Then the transformation goes through several stages:

  • The boy first transforms into a girl, and then morphs into a Satyri or Latex Demi_Succubea. Throughout most of the transformation, the male is likely unconcious from pain and pleasure, mostly pain.
  • He wakes up now a girl, and no longer human, but still alive and mortal.
  • She finds that now she is Hetrosexual in her new gender. She might still like females, but the sexual drives are no longer there.
  • The new Satyri has all the memories and personality of her former life, otherwise it wouldn't be delicious torture on the part of the True Succubus that began the transformation.


Explanation of Satyri Eyes and their color changes

Satyri eyes really are windows into their souls. That is why they are worried about the amount of yellow in their eyes. It is, in its most simplest form, a "Sin Gauge" for them. Normal feeding, even if the guy they feen upon ends up a girl, won't do anything. Sins of higher order, such as murder, rape, theft, blasphemy, turning another boy into a succubus, will cause the narrow band of yellow in their eyes to expand. Once the eyes are completely yellow, they become full demons and cannot be saved. If they should die before that, then they are judged as any other mortal. If they somehow make the yellow band dissappear...no one knows, they might become human again of become a demi-cherribi or Living angel?


Latex Demi-Inncubae

Latex Demi-Inncubae are made in a similar process involving virgin females being simialry tainted by a Parent Incubae.


Satyri Offspring

When a Male and Female Satyri have intercourse, there is a slightly higher then average chance of producing a satyri offspring. The offspring are born having the physical traits of a Satyri except that they don't gain the starter yellow ring in their eyes until age 8, and they don't have to start feeding until they reach sexual maturity.

Magic School Universe

In August of 2009, DPRagan posted an FAQ on a setting he called the Magic School Universe.[3] That outline is reproduced here for completeness with the Satyri, and recent updates to the document have incorporated updates to the "Urban Fantasy" version of Satyri.

General Concept

Early in the 21st Century quantum physics experimented with feedback techniques, this lead to the discovery that humans with the proper training could manipulate reality to a small degree.

Unfortunately while studying it under controlled conditions, environmental terrorists, through a sympathetic researcher, used the research to create quantum-charged bacteria. This bacterial-culture was based off of the Wolbachia parasite came to be called called Q1T1 through Q1T8 parasites, or collectively known by slang names such as "Cat Scratch Fever" or "Neko-jin Syndrome".

The release of the Quantum-Altered bacterial strains into the general population opened Pandora's box. Once "Magic" re-entered human culture, people incidentally found that manipulating reality became easier and easier as belief that magic didn't exist quickly eroded.

Magic, as Quantum Manipulation is more popularly called, is now quantified as part of Quantum Physics.

Some churches condemned the usage outright, others embraced it, but for most of the faiths the jury is still out. However, as irresponsible magic users and crimes involving magic rise, more and more churches are leaning toward condemnation other then certain disciplines that seem to mirror the Kabalaah and Theurgy or Monk-like feats.


Magical Phenotypes

Endo-Magic: Magic that involves strengthening the human body in some way, either that of themselves or others. These skills seem to be much like the classic classes such as the Monk or Bard. 90% of Endomages are Male, Female Endomages seem to gravitate towards Dance as an expression of their magic or seem naturals at shape shifting.

Endomages can use Exo-magic but it requires more concentration and power usage, and feels like trying to use their off-hand to write.

Exo-Magic: Magic that involves the projection or manipulation of forces, matter or energy outside the human body. These skills are what most think of when Magic is mentioned. 90% of Exomages are Female. Males who are Exomages talents seem to run more toward combat magic.

Exomages can use Endomagic but it requires more concentration and power and feels like hot and cold flashes.

Meso-Magic: It is rare that mages are proficient in both, but either through natural talent or practice some mages can utilize both styles. 3% of all mages are Mesomages, this breaks down to 2% female and 1% male. Many Mesomages suffer from QHS/MSS

Known Syndromes and Curses

Quantum Hypersensitivity Syndrome (QHS)

More Commonly called Magical Sensitivity Syndrome or MSS, Humans with this syndrome are especially sensitive to the fluctuations, in the local Quantum fields aka Mana.

Symptoms include:

  • Glowing and hyperactivity during times of cresting levels of mana
  • Lethargy and even depression during waning levels of mana
  • Sympathetic reactions to nearby spells
  • Headaches and Body aches
  • Sudden Mana Discharge

Most suffers of QHS/MSS are Mesomages, some "non-mages" have also been known to suffer from the syndrome. Current theory is that they might be more in denial of their hidden talents then true non-mages.

Cat Scratch Fever

This quantum-mutated bacteria was originally created to take "useless" (in they eyes of the group) Humans and transform them physically into endangered cats thereby making infected humans less of a burden to mother Earth.

Indeed the first generation of the parasite did just that, luckily for humanity it was only capable of infecting 0.1% of the population, which ironically included 100% of the research staff that created it.

Once it got loose both the parasite and the curse quickly "mutated" gathering in domestic felines, leaving more human features and increasing the infection rate to 5% of the human population. It is now rare that someone devolves to full animal from the curse.
