A book found and a demon summoned, she cannot resist him and it seems he cannot resist her. But what is the prices of ecstasy unleashed and is the price worth paying?
The work is a very short hot erotic hot flash which, once past the initial setting up of the story, drops the main character into a really well told story of dominance and submission which provides heat and passion without becoming over the top and impossibly so. Both characters becomes lost in their desires, which are explored deeply and along the way the attraction between them turns into something deeper and unexpectedly so.
The incubus of the work, and he is one if never described as such, is never named and that’s a shame. It would have been nice to place a name to him, make him a bit more solid in his character. Still there’s a point where Caroline’s submission presses on her to call him her master and that’s about a good a name as might be expected with what happens in the story.
He’s somewhere between naughty and evil, though very much dominant from the beginning of the encounter. That works well against Caroline’s nature and it’s not done in a way that makes the story lost the heat that comes from the moment he appears. If anything it leaves a lot of questions unanswered, which amuses and frustrates me.

Four out of five pitchforks.
It seems to me that another ending might have added a lot more heat. I kept expected that Caroline would be transformed into being a succubus and that I think would have tied things up in an interesting way. It’s more the question of the what if in this story that makes me wonder about it and, honestly, a follow on work with that aspect would be delightful.
