Plot Summary
Angelina Sugg is a 21-year-old literature graduate who works in one of the largest library in Cape May, New Jersey. Best known with Angel, she lives alone and has a monotonous life of hard work and little fun. But everything changes after she had her first nightmare. Angeline no longer knows what is real or imagination. She feels constantly watched and persecuted and doesn't know what else to do. Mason Harris is Angel's co-worker, for whom she has a secret passion. He starts to notice differences in her behavior and will try to help her in whatever it takes. But how can you trust Mason if he is present in your macabre dreams and these are linked to bloody murders in the city? Angel must find a way out of this nightmare. Or prepare for imminent death.

Angel is having nightmares and they are bleeding into her waking hours as well. The answers are shaded away, the truth uncertain and unclear. What is real may be the nightmare itself.
The work is something of a mystery mixed with a bit of drama. Whil there are moments of passion, they are held in night terrors, nightmares, and the fears each character carries with them. It’s not erotica overall, those passions are muted by the tone and text of the story, the characters being lost throughout.
The incubus of the work, Mason, has aspects of being an incubus throughout the story in the dreamscapes. There are hints of darkness, the physical nature of an incubus, moments of night terrors and paralysis as well. There is passion, to an extent, but it doesn’t really come out well and overall it feels like he is playing a game more than anything else.
Three out of five pitchforks.
It’s a very different sort of incubus story, the twist in the tale coming at the end ties the work together well enough, if feeling like something of an afterthought. The work really could have used another editing pass to make the story flow better and the dialogue feel more real than spoken in rote however.
