Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 18, 2026

Siberia is an unforgiving place with predators lurking everywhere. The most dangerous of these are the wolves in sheep’s clothing and when a group of explorers meet Azyan, it is far too late to see she is the wolf and they are her next meals.

The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, mystery with a succubus as one of the characters and, possibly the answer to the historical mystery the work is based upon. There’s an impending feeling of doom from the first page which ramps the tension up so very quickly as well. Not really erotica overall, it’s more a story of souls falling to a succubus and she devouring them one after the next.

Azyan, the succubus of the work, is very much a succubus, she seduces and controls, she pushes the men to do her bidding and there’s a bit of mind control which appears at times to explain this. Her background is really never explored, which is a shame, save for the occasional thought and musing she makes as events unfold. It might be more accurate to call her a wild succubus isolated from the world and when the men arrive, she only wants one thing and will do what she must.

Three out of five pitchforks.

When the realization of what historical mystery comes, the story takes a different tone and how things develop really works well. Being that Azyan is very much a succubus, this really answers a lot of questions and it’s a delight really. Overall one of the most interesting stories by this author and it’s quite the engrossing read even if so dearly short.
