Book Synopsis
This thoroughly researched, profusely illustrated book explains how people in all societies through the ages have used "sex magic" to improve their love lives and their money luck. Sex magic, when properly invoked, holds a surprisingly strong promise that the practitioner's wishes will be granted. Ashley covers sensational tales of incubi and succubi, spells and charms, superstitions, witchcraft, ritual magic, magical recipes, literature about sex and the supernatural (including the complete text of the vampire tale Carmilla). Also included is a unique listing of more than 200 films featuring prominent sex and magic themes.

The exemplary part of this book is the reproduction of drawings, photographs and woodcuts which are fascinating and represent many genres of expression. The truly weak part of the text is the inaccurate portrayal of Aleister Crowley and his various followers. For a less distorted perspective on Mr. Crowley, his life, his theory, and his perspective, see Richard Kaczynski's "Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley." For a more detailed book on sex magick and tantra see Nikolas Shreck's "Demons of the Flesh: sex magic" that describes the philosophy and perspective of this path in depth.
