First Brood: Dreamhunter
For other uses of the name Lilith, see Lilith (disambiguation).
First Brood: Dreamhunter is a novel written by Lenni. It is described as being the First novel in the First Brood series by the author. This universe has Lilith as the mother of the Lilim who are vampires and not succubi in nature, thus the series does not apparently subscribe to the normal interpretation of Lilith and her myth.

Summary
Vampires are dying by the hundreds. The Lilim - vampires born of Lilith - are accustomed to death, but their brethren are being taken in their sleep with not a single physical trace left on or near the piles of ash that were once their bodies. When Lilith calls her favorite vampire son, Auris, to investigate, he risks his very soul to find the Dreamhunter and save his kin from extermination. But this hunter's appearance dredges up painful secrets from Auris' past which may destroy his mind well before the Dreamhunter can steal his soul.

In a genre over-saturated with rehashed tripe and sappy, painfully forced love-stories, First Brood: Dreamhunter is like reading a breath of fresh air. I rather enjoyed the new take on the vampire mythology and appreciated the quick pace that the book kept through out.
The story follows both Darjeeling, a young vampire hunter with a special gift that allows her to kill vampires in their sleep, and Auris, the vampire chosen to hunt her down and put a stop to all the killing.
Ok, stop right there. I know what you're thinking. And the answer is NO. The story does not end in 2+2=vampire/slayer romance. See what I'm saying? Refreshing!!!
Seriously, this story is well worth the read, and for 7 bucks you can't go wrong.
