Plot Summary

A dark fantasy with elements of paranormal romance and black humor, THE NIGHTMARE GAME centers around Ashley Adams, an ordinary woman in the grip of a mid-life crisis exacerbated by a provoking, recurrent dream. Ashley has long fantasized about meeting the right guy, little knowing that her dream man really does exist, unfortunately not within her most cherished fantasies, but in the midst of her deadliest nightmares.

When traveling to New Orleans, Ashley enters a mystical world, one in which good and evil take on epic proportions and where the wrong step could cost everything. Following a supernatural near-death experience upon entering the Crescent City, she finds out that her dream man, Edmond Montgomery, is very real and very much in trouble. She learns that she was drawn to New Orleans for the express purpose of rescuing him by way of a necklace she is warned never to remove. Two of Edmond's helpers, Virginia and Marcus, start her on her journey with enigmatic pieces of information before each inexplicably disappears before her eyes.

Within the course of twenty-four hours, Ashley discovers that she is now embroiled in an almost two-centuries old life and death struggle against Rochere, a.k.a. the self-proclaimed goddess Arrosha, that no one to date has won, yet she must. Her enemy has become more powerful than ever, so there is no choice but for her to succeed where others have failed.
