Karylin is a Succubus NPC character created by Chris Perkins who appeared in the Umbra adventure published in Dungeon magazine issue 55. Her role in this adventure was a central one, being the mother of the alu-child Umbra the players are in search of. Her history is well told along with statistics about her. Karylin's physical appearance is not discussed in the adventure.

Karylin conceived a child, named Umbra, with a member of the Harmonium. When she became bored with her situation, she abandoned her child,. She then discovered her child had a high value and is now seeking her out. She confronts the players at one stage of the adventure in an attempt to claim her child, the results of this being in the hands of the players.
