Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale
The work is a complete role playing games which provides rules, character generation and outlines for various game settings which all have a B-movie theme to them. As such, the themes include horror, space, adventure and other such themes from which various outlines are provided for the Game Master to build from.
One of these, I Was a Teenage Succubus, tells of an adventure in which the players seek out a succubus that has appeared in their town. Following the clues through the adventure the succubus is revealed and the players attempt to stop her before it's too late.
While the succubus is revealed in the module outline, there's no statistics or really detailed character outline, such as appearance or history, provided, as is the same with the other sample adventures. This means the Game Master will need to create the needed main characters, setting and details of encounters beyond the outlines provided. While the plot outline gives a summary of the high points of the adventure, they will need to fill in the gaps that exist.
As a reference to Succubi in role playing games, this book disappoints in its lack of detail, but as a general reference for players and GMs, it does open all sorts of interesting possibilities for role playing. I Was a Teenage Succubus reads as being humorous and interesting, but will require some effort from the Game Master to flesh the work out fully.
