Plot Summary
Continuing the story from The Belly of the Whale, a new character is introduced, Abby's daughter, also named Abby. As a child she was raised in a strict Catholic family, but as she came of age, she began to question if there was may be something more "out there." Her mother's sister, Maggie, had divorced Catholicism early on, and she became a Spiritualist. As soon as Abby was on her own (her mother began working Internationally), she went to live with her Aunt Maggie, a well respected psychic-medium who lives in Cassadaga, Florida. As Abby became more and more involved in the occult, she learned many things that would serve her well during her lifetime.
But she never counted on Diego. She never truly appreciated her gifts and never fully respected the powers she had learned during her time in Cassadaga. She had been given the tools, but was unskilled in using them. It was like handing someone a gun and expecting them to use it successfully with no training. And it certainly is as deadly.
Falling in love with Diego caused Abby to make irrational decisions and become careless with her gifts. This released a she-demon, a succubus, who tormented Diego and unleashed a whole world of hurt for him. She almost ruined his life.
