Plot Summary

In the beginning, the gods were actually some aholes...

After the war for the title "Godde of Goddes", Marduk commissions the Human Project, starting with Lilith and Adam in Africa via The Garden of Eden. They are charged with creating enough humans to produce the worship he needs to secure his power. Lilith is given a choice: to either be replaced and die or procreate with Adam. She is loyal to her god but Adam is literally the first ever "nice guy". She cannot become part of the Echelon because of what happens when goddes and humans mate. She's reluctant to mate with Adam, who seems like the most boring lay ever. Lilith just wants to make a free choice.

No one ever counted on her forging a third path and messing up everyone's carefully laid plans.

Lilith running away with three angels (one of whom is a time traveler), her wives (goddes in their own right), and a giant dragon creates a never-before-seen situation for Earth - the first planet to ever choose both the Tree of Life and The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam, still sulking about the one who got away, makes a choice that will also greatly alter the future. Marduk, jealous of his inability to be one of the many loves in Lilith's life, seeks to castrate her and Samael - her most dangerous consort. The UnNamed God and a rogue godde of sleep are also up to no good, and the time-traveling angel warns Lilith the worst is yet to come.

Humans begin killing Others in huge droves, and then these really creepy creatures called Shadows start showing up as well. Earth quickly becomes a battlefield, with the humans who worship Marduk and the other goddes of the Echelon and the Others born of Lilith vying for control and wondering if there's any peace to be had. Tensions begin to build towards something that may end up wiping out all of humanity and Otherkind.

Can Lilith and her chosen family stop, or at least prepare for, the pending apocalypse?
