Plot Summary

For two thousand years, the women of Succubati, and those of other barbarian villages on the fringes of Empire have languished under a terrible Roman curse. Locked into immortality and forced to feed off the essence of powerful men, they await the man who will free them from the curse and return them to mortal lives. The Incubus.

Byrce is clueless about the true nature of the woman of the house, and his stepsisters. All he knows is that their strange rules are making his life hell. From cooking all their meals, to licking all the stamps, and refusing to touch him, even for a hug. But all of that is about to change. Can Bryce heal the Succubi as well as break their curse? Or will he let their broken minds and his own baser urges drive him to gluttonous indulgence?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on July 3, 2022

Bryce finally understands, or believes he does, what he must do and who he needs to save. But not all paths are simple, and many are very rocky ones. Still, there must be something good in being entwined with those around hm and giving up what he desired for the desires of others.

The work continues to be focused on a harem storyline with succubus characters who are related to Bryce. The storytelling remains somewhat unfocused and jumps from event to event at times to get to the erotica which leaves something to be desired. The mythos of the succubi and incubi remains fascinating and that really was the part of the work that kept my interest. The erotica lacks heat overall, it doesn’t really add much to the characters or story as a whole.

This work, much like the first, needs more editing. The dialogue lacks emotion, the story needs more depth and connection. It tries, the effort is there, but it doesn’t pay off as well as I really wanted it to.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The work closes out well, the story does have its moments. With everything that’s invested in the characters I would have liked more world building to make things come alive. Most of all the harem story remained the point of things and that just became repetitive after a while, which I wish it hadn’t.
