Thomas Raith

Thomas Raith is a vampire of the White Court, and member of House Raith. Like many in his family, Thomas' feeding on lust and passion has earned him the descriptor of an incubus.

Biography

He is Harry Dresden's half-brother; Harry and Thomas share the same mother, Margaret Gwendolyn LeFay Dresden. Through his father, Lord Raith of the Raith family, he has a number of half sisters (and several deceased half brothers). Thomas was something of an anomaly in that has survived this long. Lord Raith kept a tight control of his children by using this sexually based powers to dominate his own daughters. But, unlike some of his family, he had no interest in men, and tended to arrange 'accidents' for his sons (Thomas's last remaining brother went skydiving without a parachute). Thomas survived by acting the role of the fool and letting nearly everyone underestimate him.

Appearance and Personality

Thomas is tall, with long hair and a general appearance that causes his half-brother, Harry, to give him titles such as the "long lost Greek god of body cologne" and the "high priest of Bowflex." Unlike some of his family, Thomas had normally tried to keep his feedings 'safe' and rarely slew his prey.

For a time, Thomas kept a companion in the form of Justine, a emotionally troubled woman who found that being feed on by Thomas evened out her instabilities, a plus for both of them. This nearly proved fatal for her when Lara sent her to his room when he was critically injured, but he held back at the last moment, leaving her severely drained, but alive. This act of self control seems to have pushed their relationship into the realm of 'true love', and as such, Thomas can no long ever touch her.

After being publicly cast out of the family (his actions were public in defiance to his father, but for the good of his sister and family, allowing him some covert support from the family), he lived for a time with his half brother until he got an apartment of his own. He had great trouble, feeding even lighter than normal, but managed over time. Eventually, he quietly got training as a hair stylist and opened a high end salon, feeding very lightly through the intimacy of a hairdresser and his customer, and shuffling off the rare woman protected by true love to one of his assistants.

Unfortunately, during the events of Turn Coat, Thomas was captured by a Native American demon which tortured him to the brink of death leaving him no choice but to feed completely on victims provided by the demon. He has returned back to the Raith family, and has told Harry that his previous restraint was a weakness born of self delusion.
