Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on December 18, 2022
The book summary is, overall, correct in what the story holds. It’s a very short hot flash between a succubus and a male character which really lacks heat, passion or really anything past the sex itself.
It’s very much a pamphlet, which is what I call works less than a certain number of pages. In this case the entire work could easily fit in one. The story isn’t interesting, there’s no names for either character. Further the way the story is told takes away the heat very quickly and leaves a confused story that just feels like a half-hearted effort.
The succubus of the work really is something of a caricature. Yes she has horns and a tail and red skin and she wants sex with the main character. But she’s really nothing more than that. Of course she can’t be with the length of this work, but still it’s disappointing.
In some ways this read like a summary of a larger scene and that’s an interesting thought. I think the author would have been well served to take what they have, build a better story around it, and edit it to make things read a lot better. This is just disappointing and given some time and more effort it wouldn’t have to be that.
One pitchfork out of five.
Tell about the main character. Give the succubus some more personality than just needing sex. Create a story around the pair that makes this scene mean something more than the sex alone.
