Plot Summary

Jack

As a criminal defense attorney, I’ve seen my share of gruesome crime scene photos. Yet nothing could have prepared me for finding my mentor’s butchered body in his office. It’s a nightmare stuck on a loop in my head. Now, I’m looking over my shoulder, wondering if he died in my place or if I might be next.

The last thing I need is a distraction, and that’s what the sexy Channel 2 reporter, Audrey Collins, is. Something about her captivates my attention and convinces me to investigate. But as clues come to light, it becomes clear there's something sinister lurking in the darkness, and I’ll need every trick I’ve ever learned to keep us safe—even if she's determined to charge into danger.

Ash

My best friend Jack is a chick magnet, and a sucker for a pretty face. I don’t need my premonitions to know some woman will be his undoing. Me, I’m more wary—my demon father didn’t teach me that, the FBI did. But my caution evaporates the moment I see the dark-haired woman from my premonition on the subway.

She’s in trouble, on the run from a Lycan gangster. Olivia is also a beautiful wolf shifter and senses my magic immediately. How can I not be intrigued? I’ve stepped in to help her, determined to keep her safe, even though every signal in my brain tells me that by doing so, my life will never be the same.

But in the midst of helping Olivia, Jack's law mentor is murdered and a nosy reporter is dragging him into the investigation. I've got to do some investigating myself before someone I care about gets hurt. Now, it’s on my shoulders to keep everyone safe while also protecting knowledge of werewolves and magic from the world.
