Plot Summary

Hidden within the sacred halls, the naive and impressionable mage Caspian, with his jet-black hair and mesmerizing blue eyes, has been bred to strictly abide by the Church’s doctrines of sin and temptation. However, his unblemished dedication and devout life take an intoxicating twist when he succumbs to the forbidden allure of Lillith, a flame-haired succubus born of darkness and desire.

Her touch is a daring invitation to experience unparalleled euphoria, her whispers crafted to seduce, her body radiating a forbidden desire that stirs the bluest depths of Caspian's eyes.

Caught in her sultry snare, Caspian is drenched in temptation, his body responding to the succubus in ways that betray his training.

As he unravels in the abyss of desire and deceit, their steamy encounters fan a forbidden flame, seemingly impossible to extinguish.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on January 2, 2024

Caspian seeks knowledge, it drives him onwards, searching for a truth, but of what is a mystery. Words have power, and the ones discovered draw Caspian towards an encounter with Lilith who delights in his quest and the temptation she is.

The work is a short hot flash focused on the encounter between Caspian and Lilith, the succubus of the work. Much of the story carries a good deal of world building, character development and lacing the threads of the characters to bring them together. The world is very rich in the descriptions, the characters actions and inner thoughts are delightful in what they offer about them as well.

The erotica has a good deal of heat, Lilith’s seduction of Caspian is both needful and a bit controlling as well, Caspian really being unable to resist her. There’s not a darkness in that passion, it’s more of an exploration of the needs in Caspian’s soul and Lilith finding the means to draw his like a moth to the flame.

Lilith doesn’t feel stereotypical, she’s a farce of passion, desire and seduction which is described really well. Her carnal nature is delightful and it was a delight to see how her powers entangled about Caspian. While the encounter spoke of her nature, her inner thoughts and the moments before and after spoke volumes about her character, but left something lacking behind as well.

The work seems just a bit off in that the tone of the dialogue doesn’t seem to meet the world very well. Perhaps it’s a bit too modern sounding when compared to the feel of an older time. I expected from the setting a more ancient or medieval setting, there’s no feeling of anything modern around Caspian.

Yet, the dialogue spoken by Lilith just felt off somehow. The passion is there, the desire is clear, but the tone and words used just seems like Lilith was from another time and place, which she is of course, but that doesn’t explain the oddity of the dialogue.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

I’d like to see a follow on story that develops the attraction between Caspian and Lilith, that tells more about the succubi in this universe and their nature more. That’s an aspect hinted at, shrouded in myth and misunderstanding here. The universe seems to offer a lot to explore and it would be nice to do so.
