Plot Summary

After all that happened, I wanted to have some peace and quiet. Nicole was back, now turned into a succubus like Lila, and getting used to her new existence. I could focus on the brunette for a time, help her develop the control she needed to resist her new instincts, and just enjoy life.

Someone had to change that, though, and they didn’t even dare to do it face-to-face. A sniper, from a distance, though the attempt failed. I suppose I couldn’t blame them; they knew how overpowered I was compared to the other factions in the city, but I believed only one being was interested in removing me, and it seemed too obvious for Bloodfist to try something like that.

It almost felt like someone was playing a game and trying to make me move against the vampire.

And I didn’t like being thought of as a pawn.
