Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on February 16, 2018
It’s just a book and there’s no such thing as magic or demons. But the ritual Naomi has brought to her friends seems a bit too real and she’s a bit too earnest about it. It turns out that it’s all too real and what comes next will be the friends whether they like it or not.
The work is a short hot erotic flash which has supernatural fantasy, mind control, domination, betrayal and consequences mixed together to create a somewhat different incubus themed story. The conflict between the friends, the revelation of what’s really behind things is perhaps not really a surprise, but in the context of the story, the outrage and what happens fits the erotica well.
It is very much a story where Fulgar, the incubus of the work, is in control, though that doesn’t fully come into play until the friends fall to his power. While he feels a bit stereotypical, there’s a bit of something around the edges which teases the other characters. When they fall to him, there’s a good deal of mind control and domination that’s mixed with the erotic heat that worked well.
Three and a half out of five pitchforks.
Where the story ends leaves me wondering about what, exactly, Fulgar gave the girls and what it means exactly. I wonder if, somehow, all of them become succubi in one way or another, if there’s some mind control aspects which could be mixed into things. More to the point, the idea of there being succubi out in the world to do Fulgar’s bidding would be an interesting story on its own. Perhaps that will happen, perhaps not. Either way the story’s heat and the characters themselves made this an interesting read.
