Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 6, 2020

They say that no good deed goes unpunished and for James, the deed his brother weaves leads to them both being the focus of a succubus. There is a price to be paid, but for James, the punishment does not fit a crime that he never did. But it still could mean everything to him, now her, and more.

The work is a short erotic hot flash with a gender transformation at the centre of all that happens with a little bit of a succubus tangent and quite a lot of witchcraft mixing it all together. he erotica is a slow low burn at times and it isn’t the point of the story. What matters is what happens to James, what matters to her when the transformation is done, and the truth that all of the characters have to face when the time comes.

The succubus of the work is never named, but that’s really not important to this work. She is a vengeful thing, taking the male essence from James and his brother and transforming them into being female. The succubus is a shadow, an idea, a passing thought for the most part, really only coming to the fore for a short scene or two before disappearing once more.

Three out of five pitchforks.

I thought the story was really well told, but this isn’t a succubus story, it is a story with a succubus appearing fleetingly. Still, with that said, as a somewhat odd wish-fulfillment tale it’s interesting and I think it worked well.
