Plot Summary
It's finally happened. Harley is moving from half-succubus to full succubus. A second puberty during college isn't what she wanted, but that's what her mother gives her. Never before caring about sex, suddenly finds herself confronting it. She meets some potential suiters along the way, but it doesn't end like the fantasy in Harley's mind.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 17. 2020
Sometimes you have little choice but to become what which you have been told you are. A question of life and death, but then more questions follow behind. Perhaps not even Lilith herself can help Harley find herself in time.
The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, story of the beginnings of the main character becoming a succubus and the odd turns she takes on the way to getting to that point. It’s not erotica or anything sexual, the focus is more the mental struggle of the main character to come to terms with what she’s being forced into becoming and how that has started to change her.
Harley, the main character and her mother, Evelynn. are said to be succubi in their nature, but the story really doesn’t explore that aspect of them. It’s hinted on the edges, the idea is set into the story’s plot and then sort of hangs there till the last page when things seem to be on the edge of progressing, but they really don’t.
Two and a half pitchforks out of five.
It’s very much the opening chapter to the series that was supposed to follow and it’s a shame that never happened. There’s a good deal of promise here, a bit rough around the edges, but the questions about the characters and the future of the series are something to wonder about.
