Plot Summary
Incubus and Sorceress, Magic and Passion...
When Thea is kidnapped, it doesn’t mean she’ll go without a fight.
Walking through her garden, she’s grabbed and slung over the shoulder of a sexy, stubborn incubus demon who has no problem with asserting his will to get his own way. Thea has no knowledge of who the male is or why she’s been stolen, but she knows she can’t risk giving in to him.
Unable to sleep, Bernt can’t get the energy he needs to feed and he’s starving. He’s heard of a Sorceress with great power who might give him the magical aid he needs. But if the only way to get her help is to steal her, then that’s what he’ll do.
As soon as she’s secure within the boundaries of his hometown, Bernt sets himself to enticing her into giving him what he needs. Only as he gets to know her, he’s not so sure what that is anymore. The beautiful female with a spirit that intrigues him, makes him forget about his own problems, and she quickly becomes his most important priority. And while Thea can’t resist the infuriating incubus, she has to decide what she is willing to sacrifice in order to stay with him. Can she trust that he wants her, and not just her powers?
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 27, 2018
Sometimes being desperate means doing desperate things. Bernt knows his time is short without finding the one to feed him and stealing away Thea offers possibilities. The problem is, being desperate might mean losing the one thing they both are seeking.
The wark is a fantasy adventure with a bit of romance and passion tucked in amongst everything that happens. While one of the main characters is an incubus, that becomes rather secondary to the plot and characters figuring out what they both need and desire. It’s not quite a story fully focused on erotica, even with the incubus aspects of th story. But it is so very complicated and convoluted a story which made this work very much a page turner throughout.
Bernt, the incubus of the work, is something of a confused mess at times, though that comes a lot from his desperation with what troubles him. He’s a bit insufferable at the beginning of the story but soon becomes so much a better character towards the middle of the story and by the close, he’s not the same by far. His incubus nature is quite present throughout, he’s a bit over the top at points, but that doesn’t take away from his learning about himself and the sorceress that he becomes fixated upon and the passions that come.
Three out of five pitchforks.
The work closes in a really delightful way, if a little rushed and if a little bit wistful. I would have liked more to be told about the succubi and incubi in this story universe if only to satisfy my thoughts about them. A wonderful story of discovery and passion still by far.
