Plot Summary

I am a shapeshifter without form, the failure of my bloodline, and the Queen of the realm fed on me in secret night after night in my tannery workshop, never touching me back.

She is a starving succubus who knows the price of everything and offers me position, land, and title, because buying is the only thing she knows how to do with desire. But I'm not for sale, and the only thing I know how to do is stitch, spot the flaw before they do.

That's how I discovered what's been rotting inside her for twenty years: a curse woven into the seam, which only one bloodline in the realm can undo, and that bloodline is mine.

When the court demanded my blood, she denied me in public to keep me alive and destroyed me in the same gesture. Now there are eight days left, and the only one who can save her is the woman she swore she didn't know.

I could let her rot, and part of me wants to. But when you love someone for their flaws, mending becomes the only language I have left.

Do you think she deserves to be saved after everything?
