Empusa expected the usual, someone that wanted power and nothing more. But the truth of being wanted opens the path towards possibilities that she never could have seen, but now desires beyond words.
The work is a fantasy adventure with a bit of a modern tone and a bit of erotica around the edges. Quite fast paced, the story moves from moment to moment, driving the characters forwards and overall works well in doing so. There are points were the story feels like it drops something along the way and doesn’t return to it however. But the plot, the character development and the more tender moments make up for that in many places.
Empusa, who is an Erinyes with a bit of a succubus undertone in her character. She’s quite forceful in her personality, what drives her, and when she comes to realize she can love, the change within her is quite telling. A bit over the top sometimes, but for good reason, her nature and where the story takes her worked well.
There are some minor characters who are succubi that appear from time to time, but they are somewhat stereotypical in their nature and personalities. They are succubi, that’s not in question. But they are fleeting for a purpose and then vanish once more.

The work closes in a place that offers a path towards another work to tell more about Empusa, the mythos around her, and quite a number of things that were a bit glossed over. With that said, the story is engrossing, the characters are a delight and it is a lovely piece of storytelling if in a bit of a rush at times.
