Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 3, 2020

It seems like the perfect deal for Rick. Stay in a haunted house for a week and it’s his. It’s not even that bad a place, it has a lot going for it. Full kitchen, nice living room, oh and it comes with a built-in succubus as well.

The work is a very short, what I call a pamphlet, erotic hot flash which is mainly a bit of comedy mixed with the frustrations of a succubus. It’s a lot of fun, the characters play off each other really well too. Beyond that, the setting, the background, how everything fits together feels right and not out of place.

The erotica doesn’t have a lot of heat however, which is a shame considering the level of detail which the succubus of the story is described and the things she suggests, and does, to the main character. But that’s part of the plot, the fly in the ointment and it just brought me to laugh when it all came, or rather, really didn’t.

Anna, the succubus of the story, is a wonderfully sexy and seductive succubus. Very much a pinup sex bomb, there’s no question what she wants from the moment she appears and if there was any question, she clears that up very quickly. She’s not evil, not by any means, but as the truth about Rick comes out the frustration in her mood and voice has an edge to it that I adored. She’s as much fun as the story itself, and I adored her.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The work ends such that a follow on story, or series of little ones, really needed to appear. It’s a shame they didn’t, the entire problem which Anna faces amuses me to no end. I wonder how things might have gone, perhaps a bit of BDSM or something similar as Anna’s frustration grew. The work is just so dearly funny and it would have been nice for this to be a longer story and tell the rest of it.
