Plot Summary

Follow Onyx as she goes on a journey of self-discovery, in a world inhabited by vampires, werewolves, faeries, warlocks, and other creatures that go bump in the night. What starts as a routine ghost rousting, turns into a full-fledged descent into a supernatural rabbit hole, as Onyx has her first face-to-face encounter with a mysterious vampire named Rome.

It's only then that she discovers there's more to her world than meets her... nose? With the distinct ability to "sniff out" bad guys and rule breakers, she discovers she's part of a, thought-to-be, long lost line of women blessed with the gift of protecting the supernatural world.

With everyone reassuring her that there's been no need for her kind in centuries, she comes to find out that someone is stirring up trouble from behind the scenes. The more Onyx leans about her true purpose, the more danger she finds herself in. Rome's secrecy, along her ever-growing suspicion of him, puts her in the path of a millennia-old conspiracy to keep her kind from interfering with the politics of the supernatural society she was born to protect, and a destiny she can't seem to run from.
