A witch’s ambition leads her to risk everything she has for the chance to summon a succubus and claim her as her own. But risk and reward are not always what they seem to be. And the succubus herself isn’t exactly what she was expected to be either.
The work is told from the perspective of the witch, who is never named. That was a little disappointing overall because I found it difficult to really care about her when her name isn’t told. Her history is, her life is, all of the things she has sacrificed to come to this moment are, but never once her name. I found that to be very sad, more so when the succubus Ankumi appears and things change.
Ankumi as a succubus is very interesting beyond the eventual reveal that she is futa in nature. There’s a certain playfulness within her character that I liked a lot. She is powerful, there’s no question of that. but along with that the question mainly comes to what exactly she wants from the unnamed witch herself. It’s suggested, inferred, but overall the story doesn’t really have the time to give for character development or exploring Ankumi herself.
The latter half of the work is Ankumi’s seduction of the witch, the reveal of her being a futa, and then the erotica comes that then pushes story aside. The erotica has not a lot of heat to be told, but it’s somewhat more a seduction, a little mind control, a bit of toying before Ankumi takes the witch.
The work is short, very much so, and really that’s the main problem here. The time spent telling the witch’s past is well done, but leaves so many questions. Ankumi’s appearance tells of why the witch and Ankumi meet, but it’s glossed over in passing. The erotica is rushed through, not giving time for things to unfold. The ending is abrupt and, to a point, a little disappointing. The work could easily be twice the length and read so much better and I really wish it was.

Ankumi is interesting, but really there’s not much told about her, the work focusing more on the falling of the never named witch. The story has it’s moments, but along the way there are a number of sidetracks and questions offered, but never played out. Giving detail about a character is welcome, but more so when there can be a name put to the person themselves.
