Plot Summary

Delilah Faust is dying.

At 24 years old, with the onset of some strange symptoms, she receives a grim diagnosis. Her illness is a rare syndrome scarcely known in the medical world, and it threatens to bring her short life to a sudden end. Unlucky in life and in love, her days are filled with loneliness and disappointment, and she has few people she can confide in. Life doesn’t seem like it can get much worse.

But then it does get worse. Much worse. Delilah starts seeing ghosts.

Just as her world is falling apart, she meets the handsome and mysterious Damien. The owner of a private investigation agency in town, he recognizes her spiritual talents and invites her to help him crack difficult cases. Delilah senses something special in Damien, and finds herself quickly falling head over heels for him. But will she spend the final months of her short life helping him solve mysteries and chasing a love that he might not share?

In time, she learns that the Hawthorne Detective Agency isn't what it seems...
