Plot Summary

I arrived at the comic con as jaded as ever, though it was the first significant con in years. My best friend, Racheal, was up to her normal activities of cheating while with me at the con. I pretended like I didn't see it even though I did. I needed help, and she was the only one who would help, so beggars can't be choosy. I tried to keep her spirits up and stay positive. When I met an old friend, Derrick, the man I kissed like a little schoolgirl years ago. My heart fluttered, and my body tingled. I navigate old feelings, a less-than-faithful friend, and the fight to overcome a past that threatens to destroy my future.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 9, 2025

The plans of a succubus and an incubus come together at a comic book convention which results in several attending losing themselves to their hidden needs and desires.

The work is an interesting combination of the past colliding with the here and now for a group of characters as the powers of a succubus and an incubus tweak events to turn in more erotic pursuits. The actual appearance of the succubus and incubus happens at the very beginning and otherwise they become, and are described as, narrators to add a bit of their thoughts and explanations as the story unfolds.

As such, this really isn’t a story about succubi or incubi, but rather it is the telling of what happens when their powers are set loose at a comic book convention and what comes from that. There’s a certain delight in that telling, the amusement is very much in the story as well and it works well.

As for the succubus Serena and the incubus Malenkov, they aren’t stereotypical, they are more mischievous and teasing characters and I liked that very much. There was also a bit of their mythos being told, an explanation of the how and why of things that really made a lot of sense. Being so, as things turned erotic for the other characters, there was no evil thoughts behind things, and the purpose honestly brought me a smile.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

This is more of a sex fantasy overall being focused on the adventures of the characters in each vignette rather than the succubus or incubus characters. It is a cute work of erotica and there’s some really interesting mythos that are touched on, but aren’t explored and given the story itself, that wasn’t all that much of a surprise. It would be interesting to see a story focused on Serena and Malenkov, perhaps delving into their world and seeing where that takes things.
