Chiryn is a Succubus NPC character in the second edition ruleset of the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game. She first appeared in the Well of Worlds adventure module, authored by Colin McComb. She is also a founding member of the Original Sins Cartel as created by Ken Lipka. She resides in her tower where she rules over her lands known as Chiryn's Keep which is located on the Plain of Infinite Portals, the first layer of the Abyssal plane.

Physical Description

Chiryn physically seems to be in her late 20's in age with an oriental appearance. She has tanned skin, straight black hair to her mid-back, black eyes, and her wings are black. She favors blue silk clothing.

• Note: If Chiryn decides to attack, she first approaches the strongest member of the party and attempts to kiss them, draining them of experience levels. She will then gate in lesser Tanar'ri to assist her in battle. If she is in danger of being defeated, she will attempt to escape the battle using her Tanar'ri as cover to do so.

History

Appearance in Well of Worlds

Chiryn's first appearance is within one of the quests that can be found in the Well of Worlds adventure module. The players are approached by a baatezu named Kas'rarlin and asked to take a sealed letter to Chiryn. After passing through several tests, the player's arrive at Chiryn's tower. Depending on their actions within her tower, and how they deal with her, she provides a letter to be returned. If the adventure is completed correctly, it is made clear that Kas'rarlin is in love with Chiryn. It is also possible for the players to repeat the quest several times, assuming that they are seen as being valuable to do so.

Chiryn's status in this adventure module is that she is serving under an unnamed overlord Tanar’ri and that her tower is "regularly" under invasion. Beyond that her goals and situation are unclear.

It is noted that Chiryn has the ability to recognize items that may have been taken from her tower by others. She will become angry if a mortal steals items from her or destroy that which belongs to her as well. It is also noted that Chiryn has a special scent that she must apply to any note she returns to Kas'rarlin. otherwise he will not accept that the players had been to see Chiryn.

As Member of the Original Sins Cartel

Chiryn is a co-founder of the Original Sins Cartel. She rules a small realm (about ten miles in diameter) on the first layer of the Abyss. While she is supposedly a vassal of Cismok Gelugon-Smiter, he grants her independence as long as she provides him with a steady supply of souls. Surprisingly for a Tanar'ri, she is very methodical in nature and scientifically minded. She views sex/corruption/seduction as a science - studiable, precise, predictable. As such, she continually experiments with new methods of causing pleasure and pain in any sentient creature. Her natural appearance is that of a strong, oriental woman.
