Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 30, 2018

Christian can smell a story and he won’t let go of it. But the unwary can be sucked into an adventure and a life they never expected. Perhaps being a woman really isn’t that bad all things considered. You just have to make a deal with a devil.

The work is an gender transformation erotica story with a bit of a succubus theme around the edges. It is an interesting story, if a bit in a rush at times and occasionally glossing over some key points in the story to get to the next scene to be played out.

The plot is very convoluted, the characters have their secrets, and as the story plays out it biomes that much more complicated still. The story has heat, tension and mystery along with a dash of evil and temptation around the main character to keep things moving and one guessing at what some of the characters really want.

Margaret, the succubus of the work, is very close to being stereotypically evil, on the very edge of that and it is a shame really. There are points at which her succubus nature is very present, horns, tail and all. There are mind control aspects and a bit of a wish-fulfillment here and there was well. She is a bit glossed over however, the details are a little thin, and it is a shame that succubi are not explored more in the story considering what happens to the main character as well.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The story closes in a way that ties up a lot of loose ends and offers a glimpse into possible futures for the characters. The work really does need another editing pass, some of the story gets a little lost here and there. It is dat more a gender transformation story with a succubus guiding it than being about the succubus herself.
