Plot Summary

A dead body. A missing daughter. A silver blade. All the clues point to one person: Me. My name is Evangeline, and I’m a retired assassin who wants nothing to do with the underworld. But an edict from a Demonic Lord forces me to return to the man and the life I left behind. I have seven days to prove my innocence. Whoever set me up is going to die.

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on March 16, 2018

One never escapes their past and for Evangeline, her past cannot be resisted. Accused of a terrible act, the only choice is to find the truth whatever the cost. The answer promises to be that and more.

The work is a fantasy mystery adventure which revolves around the main character’s quest to proves herself and discover why she has been set up and how to extract herself from the doom that approaches far too quickly.

While there are succubi characters that appear in the story, they are minor in nature overall and one of them was a bit too stereotypically evil for me. More so, their characters felt a bit underdeveloped and perhaps fleshing them out further would have made this more interesting from the perspective of succubi in the story.

Three pitchforks out of five.

It’s a fantasy story with a couple of succubi characters to add a bit of conflict and plot along the way. They aren’t really the point of the story, but they are interesting in this own ways.
