Plot Summary

I’m Stella Devine—Exhibit A in my mother’s eternal crusade against joy.

The offense? A group of mortals unearthed my true name, and now I’m their demon on speed dial.

The Discovery:

Simon: A cardigan-clad liability who drafts epic poetry by candlelight. (I’ve seen CVS receipts shorter than his stanzas—and far more compelling.) Leo: A golden retriever in human form whose puns are a clear and present danger to public decency. (He made a “raising hell” pun to my mother. Unforgivable.) Finn: Whose anxiety grows faster than a high-yield savings account. (Literally. I smiled at him, and now the ficus is taller than he is.) Just when I thought rock bottom had a basement, Xavier—my undead ex—decided to resurrect his career as my right-hand man.

Now, thanks to their utter disregard for summoning protocol (and basic sanity), we’re co-running a supernatural LLC.

Our financial outlook? Damned. ($847.32 and a coupon for “One (1) Life Lesson.” Courtesy of my mother—Queen of Hell and passive-aggressive life advice.)

Romance wasn’t even on my radar. Turns out, it was hiding in the fine print.
