Plot Summary

In his dreams, she visits him. Every night, this mysterious, frightening, beautiful woman forces Ross to submit to her will. He doesn’t know her name, but he knows her body, her curves, her touch, her scent. He also knows what makes her different from most women. She insists on using it on him every night until they are both satisfied. But Ross has learned what she is: a demon that preys on hapless, sleeping men, and he intends to stop her.

But can he?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on November 25, 2016

Ross dreams of a succubus who takes him every night in every way imaginable. The lust is everywhere and when he finds out exactly what she is, and what she wants, he strikes a gamble. But the thing about gambling with a succubus is that the house always wins.

The work mainly focuses upon the erotica, which leaves a lot of story behind that isn’t really delved into deeply. There are little snapshots of Ross’ life, a bit of story about him, but nothing that really works to make a connection with him. The same can be said of Azazel in that much of the story focuses upon her using Ross for her pleasure and not very much it told about her otherwise.

While it is clear, as in the first work, that Azazel is a futa succubus, that alone really doesn’t tell much about her. The little hints of her attitude, how she refers to Ross as “morsel” and so on, tells of a succubus with a particular attitude, need, and desire. But that isn’t explored too deeply. How Azazel plays with Ross, tempting him, using him and so on is, but otherwise there’s nothing told of what she’s thinking or what her history is.

The story is told from Ross’ perspective, so that isn’t surprising really. Still, Azazel is very central to the story and exploring her character, telling of her past, would I think have made for that connection that this work so dearly needs.

Erotica alone doesn’t give much in the way of a story. While there is some well written futa erotica and a fair amount of BDSM as well, it is there for the sake of the erotica and not so much for the sake of telling the story. The heart of the story, what makes this more than just a stroke story, overall, is where the issue is for me.

The characters need to be developed more, there needs to be at least one more editing pass as there are a smattering of spelling and word mistakes to be found. The erotica is a little over the top, the story needs to be fleshed out more. Overall that is what’s missing here. More story, more character development. Given that, I think this work would be so much better than it is.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

There’s too much focus on the erotica over story again in this work like the first in the series. The story of Azazel I would really like to know more about. Just being a futa succubus isn’t enough of an explanation, there needs to be more about her than just bending others to her will. Perhaps, in time, the author will explore that part of the story as well.
